(I love the part when Jewel comes to the children towards the end & smiles angelically; also when everyone (even Jewel), like "everyday angels," help to dig people out of the debris;& when she stands in the middle of the chaos &, as the camera pans around her, with lovely eyes closed she sings "I will get down on my knees & I will pray"--she seems thankful). I had heard "Hands" before & loved it & now the video adds another dimension to the song. For those living near Philly, PA, the songs is playing almost constantly on MAX 95.7 FM (I live about 2 hrs away from Philly & still get the station --a strong signal I might add). Also, I was watching the "NY Friars Club Roast of Drew Carey" on Comedy Central earlier today & when Margaret Cho was talking she mentioned Jewel. She told Carey that he'd really accomplished a lot; &, that not many people know this, but he'd once lived out of his car...just like Jewel, then she said (sarcastically), "so where's your book of poetry, I ask?!?" To make it easy, just go to this site: http://feature.atlantic-records.com/new_creations/screening_room2 and choose "Jewel" at the 'select an artist' menu and you are there :-) If you go in directly from http://www.atlanticrecords.com, when you "enter Atlantic Records" it opens a second browser/window for you to navigate thru the Atlantic site. (at least it does on Netscape and Internet Explorer....on AOL it doesn't). It's good . We both cannot keep listening to this lovely singlecd. It has the beautiful Hands on it, and the songs Innocence Maintained and Enter From the East. This version of Jewel Innocence Maintained is really adorable, and probably one of her best written songs in her life. Her latest single Hands is also unique, and Jewel is surprising us every time . The article that Chris has been posting is really a lovely one to read, cause you can find a lot of recent information in it about Jewel. It really is interesting stuff to read. What i want to tell you all is that i can't wait for her second album to be released. It's something unique, and we all look forward to it!! i am pretty sure, Jewel's new single Hands is getting a lot, a lot of aiprlay these days in Holland. I am not pretty sure in which musicvenues she will going to play in, i hope no packed stadium or something like that. As Dave Morse said earlier, Jewel appeared on The Big Breakfast on Wednesday morning where we saw clips of the Hands video. They first played the YWMFM video over which is was stated that Hands wouldn't be released in the UK until the 9th November. Jewel's interview was brief, she sang ABCD (All Of The Above). For some reason the interviewer, Denise Van Outen, wasn't happy with Jewel's answers to her questions and complained later to her co-presenter that Jewel was difficult and uncommunicative. In the afternoon I heard the second half of an interview with Jewel on the London radio station GLR. She sang at least two songs acoustically, I missed the first one, the second was Enter From The East. Jewel said that she might be touring the UK in April. She was unsure about the release date of her film as it kept changing. If anybody in the London area managed to tape this interview I'd love a copy as mine suffered with being too far outside of London to receive a good signal. In the evening Jewel made a brief appearance on Live At Five on Sky News where more clips of the Hands video were shown. This morning Jewel was on the ITV programme This Morning where she performed Hands live (World TV premiere?) with a band. That's all for now, hopefully there will be more soon. Hey. Before you guys start to plan this thing, I have to let you know this. I went to an episode of Saturday Night Live before, and the theater, in actuality, is tiny. I would say that it holds no more than 250-300 people. My friend got us the tickets through his mother's company, and even then, we had to wait about 2 or 3 months before we could get tickets. On a lighter note, however, there is a stand-by line, where, when they get everyone with tickets into the theater, they start to bring people in from the stand-by line, but there is no guarantee about that. Also, about the Rosie O'Donnell show, my friend is a huge fan of an actress on the show called The Pretender (Ally Walker), and when she found out that she was going to be on Rosie, she went to the theater at 5am, and waited on line there. She got in, and told Rosie about her obsession with Ally, and Rosie brought her onto the stage to hug and meet her. So, there is a chance about the Rosie show. As for the Rockafeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting, I've never been to one, so I can't tell you about that. Hope that helps, somewhat.
