[Karyn Cruz Subject: Enough Already Ok heres my little spiel All I seem to be reading on this list lately is people whinging about how much Jewel has changed and its beginning to piss the hell out of me. Why dont all of you whingers just leave Jewel to do what she wants and instead of hearing her music listen to what she says... Read between the lines so to speak. How many of you can say that you are still the same as you were years ago, do you still see things the same way you saw them back then.I severly doubt Jewel does either. I all can say is leave Jewel alone, If she wants to change its her right. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 Oct 1998 04:23:36 -0300 (ADT) From: Jesse A McDonald Subject: NJC: List Compilation Book, EDA tape 3 I just wanted to voice my support for this proposed project, however zany it appears... with proper editing, such a project might be able to bring a relative newcomer such as myself closer to understanding the closeness that I seem to have arrived just a little too late to catch... and anyhow, historical accounts of things like this tend to be sooo moving... so um, I think someone should do that. Word. Speaking of projects, has everyone sent their tapes to Mark for the 2nd EDA cover tape? I haven't... I just never seem to be able to get around to recording the last few bits... BUT... even though that tape is not yet complete, let alone released... I would like to announce that as soon as Mark declares tape 2 closed, I will begin accepting submissions for tape 3. BUT... tape 2 isn't overwith yet, so let's just leave that on the back burner for now... oh yeah, I hope I'm not being presumptuous by saying that... I mean, I'm assuming there's no official person I have to ask in order to be the compiler of EDA tape 3, is there? | Jesse Dangerously http://www.chebucto.ns.ca/~ad309 | subterranean seraph 16 Trust Everyone | ad309@chebucto.ns.ca Ekam Sat, Viprah Bahudha Vadanti | ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 Oct 1998 08:33:09 -0600 (MDT) From: Charlie Watkins Subject: buy 'Hands' and teleCD www.teleCD.com lists 'Hands' as a maxi-CD for $7.64 and has a release date of Nov 2. I'm proud to be an EDA, but I think that, that would be a little too overboard. Basically ALL of my friends don't know who Jewel is let alone an EDA, and I doubt that they would care at all. Cute idea though. Keep thinking. - -Keely The Crazy Angel ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 Oct 1998 12:20:08 MET-1 From: "CHRISTIAN LOBENSTEIN" Subject: Various subjects Hi EDA's! I will have a short comment on the new album: Can't wait to get it, and I am glad that Jewel did not limit herself by saying 'Lets make a CD with 14 slow, acustic guitar songs.'. Let her try out new things (after all artists do not make CD's to please fans, at least they should not, but to express themselves). Time will tell... 2nd thing: I played a Baseball Manager on the net (Yes, very few Germans like Baseball...), made it into the playoffs. The team is called "Jewel's Everday Angels". But I even lead the playoffs before the World Series...I'll tell you if I did win (would not mind the 300$). Funny side note: The only team that constantly played against my predictions were the Padres, guess they do not know that Jewel lives in San Diego. Bye all, have a nice weekend, Christian. P.S. I have a question. What was the cast of the Wizard of Oz Live special deal. I was thinking about this a lot earlier, and all I could remember was Jewel (of course), and Nathan Lane as the Cowardly Lion. It's been a while since I've seen it, and I'd really appreciate it if someone could refresh my memory. Thanks a bunch. Anywho....have a great weekend everyone! > Love, > Dana...the blue eyed angel Not that it wouldn't be a cute idea, but what purpose would it serve? Maybe if it was used to get discounts off concert tickets or something it would be useful. But if no one's ever going to see it except you and maybe other EDA's, then what's the point? Also, I'd like to add that I've gotten a couple ill-intended emails from the original poster of this idea. He apparently thinks that any controversy about his idea directly translates to a personal attack on himself. Why do people have to get so offended when someone doesn't like their idea? Why don't you just give reasons as to why it would be a good idea, and resubmit it? I haven't been on this list very long, but if these are the kind of people that Nedra calls EveryDay Angels, then I think I'd rather not be one. Maybe I'll just go to the news-only listing. I was at the store looking at Movieline Magazine in an endless search for something about To Live On, and again there was nothing, but there was an intersting mention of Jewel, so here it is: "...Warner Bros. is at work on 'Bandits', a remake of the hit German film about four female jailbirds who become underground music sensations. It's been rumored that Ginger Spice wants in, but she's not the studio's favorite(thank god). Warners will first look at Neve Campbell, Jewel, Angelina Jolie, and Lauryn Hill of the fugees..." well that's it, pretty cool huh...I hope she'll do it...but i don't when she''ll have time. - -Kyle ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 Oct 1998 16:54:44 EDT From: FallinPixi@aol.com Subject: NJC: Re: EDA Project I think if anything needs to be made for EDA's it should be shirts *yeah i know their were* and maybe even bumper stickers! they're fun to explain/have! it's not much but it's just my thoughts! *Cara* ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 Oct 1998 16:57:52 -0500 From: Karyn Cruz Subject: Jewel poetry read during Non-Violence Week! Hi, Angels! Just wanted to share with you that Indiana University (East campus) in Richmond, Indiana is in the middle of Non-Violence week. We just finished a poetry reading and two of Jewel's poems were read! It warmed my heart to hear them! Sorry, i don't know the titles right off hand: one is about the woman sitting next to her on a plane ("1B"?), and one about humanity..."i say to you idols"??) Anyway, i was very please that her poetry was included in our reading! Take care and have a non-violent day!! karyn idiosyncratic angel /\o/\ "/ \" - "You can be Henry Miller, and i'll be Anais Nin. I think that we should find some way to make shirts (even though they were already up at one time) or bumper stickers or little cards or something, not to say we are better than someone else, but to say "Hey, I support Jewel and her music and I'm proud of it.". Like a little bond with the other angels or something. Even if there isn't an actual point to it, it would be fun, like one of the other angels said, to proclaim something that maybe some people don't know about....like an inside joke, but it is known by a LOT of people.
