I was just curious if there was anyone else from the list that was planning and/or wants to and/or is thinking about attending the "Male Singer/Songwriter Tour", AKA "frasier Fair" show (with Steve Poltz, Glen Phillips, John Doe, and Pete Droge (sp?) ) in Chicago on Monday, November 2. I think it would be cool to get a little get-together going before the show. Nothing major, jsut maybe getting a bite to eat and matching faces with the black and white bits and bytes of email. Let me know if interested. Thanks. and hey, have a great day, everyday!!! There are 9 large-format picture's from Spirit on the page. They are absolutely sensational. Because of frames it's hard to tell how to get there directly, but try this: http://www.atlantic-records.com/frames/Artists_Music/biography.html?artistID =39 ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 18 Oct 1998 03:03:51 -0500 From: briedis@alphalink.com.au Subject: SJC: Any Australian EDAS?? Hi guys, This is my first post so I'm hoping it gets to ya'll. I was just wondering if there were any Australian EDAS amongst the wonderful and spiritual Angels. I am in Melbourne, Aus. and am a HUGE Jewel fan. I'm going to go to every one of her shows when she comes here, and will hopefully get tickets for her TV Appearaces here also. So about the Aussie EDAS, please email me sometime and we can chat about Jewel and her upcoming Australian visit. Also to anyone: do you guys do anything special when you go to Jewel concerts?? Like wear something the same each time so she knows you're an Angel?? Thanx for listening Angels. The b/w photos give so much more expression to Jewel's natural beauty that in relation to her new album Spirit this was the perfect choice. I was completely happy to see Jewel wearing those lovely creations. I think this is what's Jewel makes so lovely artist. Every time she suprises us all, this photos that will be in the cdinlay of Spirit are really worth to be put up for posters. I really like them, and i guess you all will do too! greetings, michiel http://members.xoom.com/Jewelimpala/index.html Dutch tribute site to Jewel - you can find info how i got my cdsingle of Hands as fan of Jewel. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 17 Oct 1998 21:36:39 +0200 From: Michiel van Gorkum Subject: the new video of jewel hands release ??? hello fans of jewel, i would like to know when the single of Jewel Hands will be released on the television ? i am just curious to find out, when we will see the premiere of this new video of Jewel. Sender: owner-jewel@smoe.org Precedence: bulk hello jewelfans and alan, tonight a girl performed a Jewel song of Jewel's first album Pieces Of You. We call it 'The Soundmix Show' where young talents can sing their favorite song of their artist. The presenter Henny Huisman told the audience and the public that Jewel has sent and we could see it a Jewel clothing item, which was autographed. He also told us that the next concert of Jewel will be in Muziekcentrum Vredenburg in Holland and that Jewel invited the Jewel imitator/performer of Foolish Games. So Alan, is there something of news in your surroundings who can confirm this news ? Jewel had sent a signed clothingitem to the girl and asked her for her concert in Utrecht? So do you happen to know any date, the presenter didn't told the public? This ain't a private concert i think , does Jewel give private concerts just because someone performs one song of her ? Could you tell us fans something more about my story Alan? Perhaps she will play there next year, but it is not on any current schedule for 1998. In fact, I shouldn't even ask that, because I know that Jewel hasn't, and never will, sell out to anything or anyone. Jewel is her own person. She will make whatever music she decides to make. If she wants to collaborate with Jermaine Dupri or Puff Daddy and make an r&b record she will, if she wants to do a duet with the Spice Girls with a song with about as much meaning as "Wannabe" she will. Hell, if she wants too go on stage wearing a pink bra and lederhosen and perform a thrash heavy metal version of "Foolish Games" with Marylin Manson (oh my what a vision) dammit she'll do that! My point is that Jewel will record the type of music that she, and no-one else, wants! The fact that she's making exactly the kind of music that I want her to make is a different story. *Bruce wrote* <> I don't want to be rude, but you Americans have no idea what pop music is. When you've had years of torment living with the British charts as they are at the moment (any of you Americans ever wonder why great British bands like B*Witched, Billie, Boyzone, 911 and Peter Andre never make it into your top 10?) then you will notice that in fact Jewel is as far away fom pop music as you can get! Jewel's music is closer to country music than pop! Which brings me to the question: what kind of music genre would you put Jewel in? My one would be a new genre called "folk-soul". Well that's all. (gee britt can you say different a little more? haha) anyways. what i mean is...a musician's goal is to grow musically and learn all about music that they can. i mean think she recorded that like 3 years ago. she has probably changed a lot since then and so has her music. and think about it...you guys all know how jewel is...if she didnt like the way it sounded no way would she have released it. so...all i gotta say is attagirl jewel :) you did it again. allrighty...thanks for listening....byeeeeee ~Brittany~ aka the dancing angel ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V3 #559 ***************************
