It occured to me the other night when the Padres went up 3-0 (now 3-1) on the Braves that barring a comback unpresedented in sports the San Diego Padres will be in the World Series. Then I remember that at the Super Bowl in San Diego last January Jewel performed the national anthem. I would assume that with there being more than one game in San Diego for the series Jewel would have to be an obvious choice for one of the games. Can anyone (Mr. BB) confirm anything about the possibility of Jewel being asked to perform the national anthem once again. My name is Tim, and I am goin to Chicago on Monday the 12th... I know this is real short notice but i just didnt think about this till now. I am goin to see WCW Monday Nitro at the United Center, and was wondering if any chicago edas are going. Also, maybe some chicagoland angels might wanna meet up for a bit before or after the show? I will be there all night and part of Tuesday. Hieu ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 12 Oct 1998 12:23:06 EDT From: ABershaw@aol.com Subject: MrBB-"Spirit" International/Lyrics Hi all, Many have written asking if the rest of the lyrics to the new album will be featured in the CD booklet/cover graphics. The answer is yes, they will. :-) In various International markets, Jewel's new album "Spirit" will also contain a special lyric insert of the song "Hands", translated into French, Spanish, Italian and German. This will be a simple sheet of black text on white. The translations will be done by the respective labels in France, Spain, Italy and Germany. This is being done because the lyrics of that song are so powerful, that the labels want to make sure people in their markets have access to the message that these lyrics convey. The website >definitely doesn't do it justice! Its quite large, beautiful >materials, foil embossed Jewel artwork on the cover, threaded >place marker & very nicely designed. It is definitely nothing like a >little spiral notepad, which is what I previously thought. I just wanted to let you guys know, if you don't feel comfortable w/ ordering things from the internet, that I saw the Jewel journal at Border's Books....so if you have one near you, you can get it there w/o the costs for s&h...L8ers!!! Hi everyone , I know this is going to sound retarded, but I have a stupid question to ask . If Jewel's tour ends up around say , here , do the EDA's go together? Or am I the first to say this? ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 12 Oct 1998 14:25:16 -0400 From: juel@mtneer.net (Sarah McCarthy) Subject: NJC:Hopefully a few EDA's will want to come together for a Steve Show Sorry for talking about steve poltz, if it wasnt for this list wouldnt have a clue as to who he is. Anyway, I bought a Tiny Lights Tour book with several Jewel photos a while back, and in there, it had the same thing for WWSYS & YWMFM...ANYWAY..the one for Foolish Games said that it was one where she just sort of took assorted jottings and fit them all together, and that it was the result..(I don't remember exactly what it said) Anyway, I read the TLT book again last night, and on the second to last page, beneath the poem, "Father of a Death Girl" was the quote "IN THE END ONLY KINDNESS MATTERS" Now, has Jewel had this song written for a long time, or did she do the same thing as she did with Foolish Games, and sort of "cut and paste" (as I like to think of it) the lyrics (afraid to say words ;) together?
