Thanks for your comments about Jewel as Ellen or Eponine on Broadway. i do think she would be great for both parts...And maybe i'm just VERY partial to Miss Saigon (My FAVORITE broadway!!!), i would love to see Jewel in it. She does physically fit the part of Ellen (IMHO, i don't think Ellen is old, although the person originally playing the role of Ellen did seem older than the "Chris"), and her vocal range can easily take on the part. Besides, if they want an older Ellen, they can use make up to make Jewel look a little older. As for acting...well, since Jewel is working on her acting career...she can try out different roles. After all, Jewel is a versatile person--in her voice and talents... Also, i don't think that Ellen is a hateful character...when i saw Miss Saigon, i actually felt sorry for her (okay, for both Ellen AND Kim!) Eponine in Les Mis is a fiery kinda gal, very likable, very strong character with a heart of gold ...and so is Jewel! You can't help but like her! Plus, Eponine's songs are beautiful ("On My Own" -- a personal favorite Les Mis song!) Jewel would be a great Eponine, IMHO. =)... and not all Eponines were Asian...lately it seems most have been, but the original character was blond-haired woman. i wonder if Jewel would ever consider these roles.
