Did he ever call back .. say whether or not he was okay? Whenever I listen to that tape, whenever I hear her tell that story, it always makes me cry. I start thinking... how many kids are lying in the gutter at this very moment? How many people are breathing their last breath because they've overdosed? What kind of life have they led that would drive them to such a low-opinion of themselves? How many family members and friends will cry over their death? Or will it be a silent passing .. having been abandoned? No one to care that a life has come to an end? Were they beaten? Were they scared? Were they alone? And I weep for every single person living in that the single moment. Don't you ever wonder ... where that kid is, what he's doing, right *now*? But I'm back, and so is my web page, Simply Jewel. It can be viewed at: http://members.tripod.com/~simply_jewel I've tried to return Simply Jewel to it's basic premise: an easy-to-use format focusing on Jewel and not a graphic-rich design. There are 20 .RA files and 40 .JPG files for your listening and viewing pleasure. Hi all, I have a video with the Lilith Fair concert in Molson Amphitheatre, Toronto. It's a 63 min. tv program recorded from CANAL+ (Satellite TV) in VHS-PAL (Europe TV system), and it's in hi-fi stereo quality. The tape is the master copy, recorded directly from TV (It's not a VCR-VCR clone). I want to trade it for a VHS-PAL, low generation (1st or 2nd) and in "hi-fi Stereo" video with the Jewel VH1 "HARD ROCK LIVE VIDEO" or the MTV-unplugged. Email me. saludos fernando I've finished some (I think) great J-Cards for Rare Angels 95, Radio Angels 96 and for Rocks The Paradise tapes. Check them in: http://www.geocities.com/broadway/stage/4277/jcards.html http://www.geocities.com/broadway/stage/4277/ Hope you like them!. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 3 Sep 1998 16:03:34 -0400 (EDT) From: Michael Carmona Subject: Clueless for RARE Jewel Hi Karyn and all you EDAs out there!! I have been looking for that song, "All By Myself" that Jewel covered in the movie Clueless! So far, no luck on this end. I heard that someone did have that song on tape, and it was taken directly off of the video of Clueless and then the dialogue was electronically taken out. I haven't been able to track down anyone that has it so far. So if you find it, please get in touch with me!!!!!! I will be willing to trade some rare Jewel footage for it, like Jewel surfing on video or Jewel receiving her high school diploma at her graduation ceremony! Thanks! I just saw Steve Poltz's music video, Silver Lining, for the first time on CMT. I never realized he's so cute(don't mean to be shallow but still...) I loved the video and of course the song. I've seen his name appear many time on this list and his music been discussed, but I'd never heard of his music myself. I was blown away by his music when i finally got to hear it. i finally know what have you guys been talking about. One quick thing though. I've never seen his video been aired on MuchMusic, which is one of the three music channels we have here in Vancouver and the channel i watch the most. Why his music doesn't get played more often(not even once)? Dose anyone know? Anyways, i'm definitely gonna buy his CD(it has been released, hasn't it?) He has one more fan now. - -Vicky....Taiwanese angel ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 3 Sep 1998 19:55:07 -0300 (ADT) From: Jesse A McDonald Subject: Re: just a note, Pieces of You is NOT one of the 90s top 10 albums > Although Jewel is a very important artist both to me personally and the music > community in general I don't think Pieces of You is anywhere near the top 10 > albums of the decade. Just something to think about since I have been posting > again lately. Pieces of You is the only album Jewel has. A person compiling a list of the top ten ALBUMS of the decade isn't really obliged to consider Jewel's non-LP tracks, I don't think. I would definitely include POY in my personal top ten of the 90s, especially if I was only considering mainstream (ie major label) records. Can you name ten records that beat POY? I might be able to name a few, but not ten. | Jesse Dangerously http://www.chebucto.ns.ca/~ad309 | subterranean seraph 16 Trust Everyone | ad309@chebucto.ns.ca Ekam Sat, Viprah Bahudha Vadanti | ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 3 Sep 1998 19:23:31 EDT From: Bebe838@aol.com Subject: Re: jewel-digest V3 #471 In a message dated 98-09-02 22:27:48 EDT, you write: << Regarding the Renee Zellweger article where she is mistaken for Jewel, do you think they made it up just for the article? That is a lot!!! I think Jewel should be placed within the top ten or around that area, possible in the top 20's. You have to consider what the albums are scaled on to get on this list. They have sales, number of weeks on the chart, singles made, and various other topics. My LRT is actually this Sunday in Taunton, Masschusetts. It's a backyard affair, with grills going, angels hanging from the trees, and the like. * ahem * Hanging out starts at 4 PM, with the show commencing at 5:30 or whenever Joy and Lisa feel like singing and playing. I've seen these ladies play before, and they should deliver a kick*ss show. I expect the usual heavy turnout of EDAs as well, from as far away as Kansas, Ohio and California. Water guns will be checked at the door (NOT). I also seem to have a cache of surplus laser tag weapons in the closet... hmmm. Everyone is welcome, so skip the conventional family Labor Day weekend party and come to the UNconventional Harris LRT! I'll be in and out between now and Sunday, but I'll check email through Friday afternoon and early Sunday if anyone needs details (like how to find the show). Include your phone number so I can call you back in time. I'm looking forward to seeing many of the EDAs this weekend, and watching that goofy grin on Mr. BB's face as these two songbirds (and our fellow EDAs) thoroughly entertain us! ;-) Dennis Harris ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 3 Sep 1998 22:46:45 EDT From: MAXMOUZE@aol.com Subject: Re: jewel-digest V3 #471 But not only the fact that the man approached Jewel with "your work" but that he ended saying "Especially one named Jewel" as if it was a punchline to a joke.
