As of right now, Susan James and Cindy Wasserman will be attending but not performing -- although I won't stop them if they decide otherwise. We have more than enough great talent to make for a beautiful night of music so we hope you can make it. When: Saturday August 22, 1998; 6pm-TBD Where: the home of Larry Greenfield Confirmed Performers: Aife Wells, Beth Waters, Abby Travis, Pamela Goodchild, Marcella Detroit, Essey, and Mary Dolan Patronage: Please RSVP to Larry Greenfield or myself as soon as possible. We encourage you to bring your friends and family. Admission is a minimum $10/person which will be divided evenly between the artists. Additional donations are welcome and would be appreciated. Other Information: This will be a very casual gathering of music lovers, music professionals, and, of course, musicians. There is obviously no dress code but it is recommended that you bring warm clothing as this event is being held outdoors and will extend on through the night. For directions to the home of Larry Greenfield contact Larry or myself. Food & drink will be available. CD giveaways will also be taking place. - ---- Susan will have copies of her wonderful new double CD available at the show. You can find more on Susan on the Ecto Guide at: And at her official site: She's also going to be featured in Guitar and Billboard Magazines in the coming weeks -- as well as going on a nationwide tour beginning in September through December. - ---- Also, Abby Travis is doing another solo show at Highland Grounds in Hollywood tonight with the great Martin Luther Lennon. Do try and attend (if you aren't attending the Cowboy Junkies/Over the Rhine show). ___ Thanks for your time. San Diego this time. Ok, so a couple of days ago I ask if any one had heard a female singer/songwriter named Jerra in NYC. She played mostly at Bitter End on Bleaker Street. Since then I've learned a little more about her. First, she is from La Jolla, CA. Her father was a jazz trumpeter. The 5 song demo tape that I mentioned was recorded in 1997 at Blitz Studios in CA. It is called Good Times?. The question mark is part of the title. She has performed mostly on solo acoustic. According to my friend she has been a frequent performer at Java Joe's. Also, there is a thank you on the tape to the people at Thomas Pain Coffeehouse. If any of this rings a bell, please contact me. I'd like to talk to anyone who has seen her in person. I also recommend that you go see her if you get a chance. The demo really impressed me. She's a student at NYU so she may be back in the clubs after school starts. I'll be contacting her via mail and try to get some solid info. Also, our mutual friend will be seing her in NYC in a couple of weeks and I'll try to get an update from her. Sorry to take up so much space with this NJC, but I am truly impressed by what I've heard so far.
