Please go to "http://www.spectra.net/~ducksoup" and if you have any questions which are not explicitly covered there, then come back and ask someone. For your knowledge and the general knowledge of the rest of the list, Mike's page covers most (if not all) of the questions asked by new people on the list including: -What is an EDA? -What is Angelfood? -How do I get Angelfood? -How do I get an Angelname? -What are terms such as LRT, EDA, POY, YWMFM, etc.? I personally haven't viewed the webpage in a while, due to lack of time with classes(I'm a college student even during the summer), but unless I'm wrong, if you wish to ask any question to the list that either appears to be an inside joke or an acronym...First, consult the webpage, then ask the person who posted about it. If you can't find the answer from that, then ask the list. It will cut down on much email that could be prevented by a short 5 or 10 minute recess to go to Mike's page. Again, it's at "http://www.spectra.net/~ducksoup" :) Seth Fulmer A.K.A. Does anyone know if that show aired and when it did? Third: On Thursday I was talking on the phone to my boyfriend and I had on MTV that show Silf and Oily the sock puppet thing on MTV and they I think made fun of Jewel I was not paying that much attention but they asked a stupid question before the commercial break and then when they came back they said the awnser was Jewel and then they talked a little bit about her making fun of her did anyone see this? If you did could you please tell me what they said I would love to know. Forth: I thought Jewel was going to do 10 poems on vh1 this weekend I did not see any and they only showed 5 are they still going to show them this week or are they done and stoping now? It really confused me maybe they are not showing them on the weekend that is the conclusion I came to. Ok I know it is a lot to post but the last thing is does anyone have any Steve Poltz recordings? I went to a show in Belmar, NJ on April 11th I saw someone recording it on vhs did anyone record that show I would love to have a copy of it I will trade angelfood pay postage what ever it takes! This "Almelo's' Girl from holland entered the musicscenes of Nashville after making just a karaoketape and than was spotted by directors of warner music division America. This 21 year old dutch singer has a unique voice and her first song aka hit 'I'm Not So Tough' is certainly very worth to listen to. Her album is a little bit folk / country and i am sure that you will enjoy listening to this debutcd of our dutch Ilse!! She made this album with a producer all the way in Nashville and she will tour in October in Holland - in our own Paradisoclub- and i was hoping to find dutch fans of her who wants to join me going to her concert on 4th of October of this year! I am already looking forward to that! So take a break and listen to this album World Of Hurt . I am pleased to announce this news of a dutch singer/songwriter to all you Jewelfans, hoping that you try and listen to her first debutalbum. For us dutchmen this is really unique, that a 21 year old girl is being spotted and signed by an american label and especially in the mekka Nashville where she made her first album. There is also an official site about her available at : http://www.ilsedelange.com , and i would be pleased when you try and visit that site! greetings, michiel The Angel Who Thinks Jewel Will Be A Major Influence For The Second Century! http://members.xoom.com/Jewelimpala/index.html (A Dutch Tribute To Jewel - A Beautiful Angel From Alaska) icq : 13114452 " For A lot of us, Jewel is an angel sent down from the heavens to give us inspiration, hope , and to help those of us who have lost our smiles, smile again " ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 03 Aug 1998 16:17:46 PDT From: "chris braniff" Subject: njc: stevee poltz in lawrence ks is anyone going to the steve poltz/ lisa loeb concert in lawrence ks? i know this is short notice since the show is tommorow but i just thought i would see if anyone else was going. my seats(my friend is going w/ me) are center section row G seats 14 and 15 so come on by and talk if you are there. can't wait to get to omaha the next day for another steve poltz concert he rocks. chris ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 3 Aug 1998 20:05:13 EDT From: CybrPsco15@aol.com Subject: Jewel & Steve Lately I have noticed that Jewel and Steve still keep a close relationship in their music, In all my angel food, Jewel has to muntion him at least once, and of course in the you were meant for me video Steve was the only other person in there besides Jewel. Did anyone else try to order the signed bookplate copy of ANWA from Barnes and Noble the night of the Jewel AOL 6/3/98 chat? I tried, and much to my dismay, although they charged my mother's credit card, they never sent the book to us, and they have absolutely no record of our order. Not coincidentally, that night when I was trying to check on the status of our order, the complete IRL and e-mail address of a known hacker came up. Obviously he stole my ANWA by having the order rerouted to him somehow. Did anyone else have this problem or any other similar problems that night when trying to order the signed bookplate edition of ANWA through the exclusive AOL order? Oh, and now since Barnes and Noble Online are out of signed copies, and I can no longer buy it from them, even after we cancel the charge, does anyone know of any company or organization selling signed copies of ANWA? If they're selling it for more than $50, please don't even bother e-mailing me. And don't send me e-mails if you want to sell yours. I trust you all, but with all honesty, I can't in good conscience send cash or check to a complete stranger that isn't EDA list OKed to sell signed copies of ANWA. It will always say something like, "This is a complete lie". I don't recall exactly what they said about Jewel but I remember it was pretty funny. I do remember the Alanis Morisette one where they said something like "Canadian rocker Alanis Morisette unlocked the mysteries of the universe when she discovered that if you place a piece of candy corn in an overhead projector it projects a picture of the Canadian flag" It's a great show, if you like sock puppets. :) JonBoy911 The Luchador Angel http://members.aol.com/JonBoy911/index.html ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 3 Aug 1998 23:52:47 EDT From: Prism14960@aol.com Subject: NJC: Steve Poltz show in New Orleans =) Hey Angels, Just wanted to also share my awesome experience last night (august 2nd) at the Steve Poltz show in New Orleans. =) It was incredible. I'll spare you the details and tell you the really cool facts. =) So... inbetween his songs I was requesting "everything about you" and he turned to me and said "So what's your name?" And I said "Priscilla." And he was like "Oh Priscilla, huh?" Then he totally made up a song about me and to me on the spot!!!! It was sooooo cool!!!!!!! I loved it!!! =) And it was hilarious too!!!!! The audience loved it. In fact, during almost his entire set, he had the audience rolling in laughter and by the end, everyone loved him!!!!! At first there were only like 6 people in the audience with his cd (he asked) but by the end, I swear I saw everybody walk out with one! So then, after his set he was signing autographs for everyone, and I walked up and he recognized me. =) He signed my cd and we talked, and I asked for a kiss, and he kissed me!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wooohoooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =) hehehehheh He is such a great guy. =) I have the setlist for those that like to keep track. (maybe someone can forward it to the Rugburns/Steve Poltz list) 1. I love ya 2. The Great Mystery 3. Treehugger 4. Forbidden Fruit 5. Priscilla Improv!!!! =) 6. You Were Meant For Me (w/David Cassidy story in middle) 7. Everything About You 8. Waterfalls One more thing... I think I was the only person on this list there, but if there is any possible way whatsoever that I could get a copy of this show, PLEASE Email me!!!! Even if you have some helpful advice on how to persuade those lovely people at House of Blues to give me a copy (if they have one) let me know!!!!!!!!!! I'd be eternally grateful for obvious reasons!!!!!!!!!! (that's the August 2nd, New Orleans, House of Blues show) Steve Poltz did an excellent job last night. In a place where unfortunately he doesn't get much airplay, he totally won everyone over last night. (side note: there was some radio guy there who said he would play him now every morning) I hope he liked it here, and I wish for a quick return! =) Thanks for listening. =) Peace, Priscilla.
