On another note, I would just like to introduce myself to the list. My name is Lesley, and I'm a 15 year-old-girl from Liverpool, England, and I have been apart of this list since yesterday. Sorry if I wasted your time. Enjoy, MrBB ******************************************************** Dear EDA's, So, how fitting that as you have gathered for the Jewelstock Reunion, I am making my second attempt at my second record. I am very excited this time. The producer I'm working with thinks very similarly, musically, to me. I think it will come out good--though as always I am terribly nervous. Right now I'm in Alaska for a period of time that seems to diminish each year. It is so lovely and so beautiful. I find myself not getting the much needed sleep, though. I'm going outside early early until late late. I think to get rest I'll have to check myself in some place where they tie you to the bed and give you sleep intravenously. I hope you are all doing well and taking care of each other. Thanks again for being such a cool and understanding lot. The Birthday card was the coolest, best, most rewarding present a girl could ever hope for. I am asking anyone who has a web site with color or even text-based J-cards for various angelfood that is floating around on the list, please post to the list and advertise your site :-) I am getting many people posting asking about them in/as a followup to a post earlier today asking about them. (a lot of "me too" posts) It would be easier if owners of such site posted now, rather than me sending thru many posts asking for site addresses. Mike :-) P.S. Henry Park....do you still have your wonderful J-cards on a site? ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 20 Jul 1998 17:31:27 -0700 (PDT) From: 90 blackwell Subject: Re: NJC: Free Steve Poltz show 7/22 No, I'm not going to the steve show, but there is also a Gregory Page show at Java Joe's on the 25th, if anyone wants to meet there that would be great, or just show up and look for three girls wearing bright yellow stars and you'll know it's me! - -Aurora- Where the hell is Belmont Park? I had no idea that "All by Myself" on Clueless was sung by Jewel. I guess it just never clicked with me, even though I was obsessed with that movie all through Junior HIgh. But to all those angels who own the movie, the song plays when Cher is walking through the city after walking out of the house after having a fight with Ty. I really like it! If anyone ever finds a version of it, please e-mail me. This is something I wrote & read at Bearsville '98 that pretty much sums up how I feel. Enjoy!! "What being an EDA means to me" Here I am, sitting in the woods, with people I met "off the Internet". I must be crazy (aren't we all). It's been a year & a half since I discovered this group, by accident more than anything else, (Much the way I discovered Jewel) The Camraderie in this group never ceases to amaze me. The Love that bonds us is very special indeed. A question I get alot is "What's EDA mean?" or "What is an EDA?" To keep it short, I just say it's a "Jewel fan club". We all know that's not even CLOSE to what it's about. I'll be the first to admit it was my first thought too. When I joined "The List" I thought that I was going to be a VIP. I thought it was going to get me front-row tickets & backstage passes. It didn't. (BTW I still await my turn to meet Miss Jewel herself) Instead, What I got was love & friendship & the best bunch of friends a person could ask for. It seems to me to be a fair trade-off, right? Everything we do together, from gatherings to the LRT's to the EDAF, It's all a reflection of the love we have in our hearts & the love we have for each other. LOVE. Notice how often that word comes up. Well, That's what its all about & if you think about it, it's more important than following any singer (even Jewel). What's EDA mean? It means love, trust, friendship & caring. If we're Everyday Angels, then we should leave a little love wherever we go. And That's what being an EDA means to me. Sorry for being so long winded, but this is the last long post!!
