Does anyone know if there's any Jewel videos available in stores? But I wanted to add my thoughts on my favorite poem. The poem I believe to be my favorite in the book, I had read before in her tiny lights tour book. As I'm sure many know, a lot of the poems in the tour book made it into the poetry book. But anyway. I believe "Father of a Deaf Girl" to be my favorite. I'm really not sure what draws me to it. Maybe I feel in some ways is describes many parents; too busy to really listen to what there children are saying. (or maybe it's just my parents who knows) So instead of taking the time to listen and understand, they ignore or just push their children by telling them to shut up. Which if ignored long enough children tend to lock themselves in behind walls of their mind or doors as the case maybe. I hope this does make since to all of you. I've been playing it together and then I looked at my book and they don't show them together. Anyone who could help me out please do so. I got it for $10.99 and i think there are two left. If anyone wants to work something out just reply. The size is about 60 inches up and down, about 30 inches across. sorry, i can't tell my lenghts from widths. The poster looks like the one on the foolish Games import CD and Japensese POY version. It says"Jewel Pieces of you a phenominal debut album. There was also another poster with Jewel there. it was a regular size poster. the poster was the UK's version of YWMFM(jewel with her guitar walking down the street). The guy wouldn't sell it to me but i got my friend Alyssa to con him into selling it for me. I don't think there's any left of this one but there are two of the other ones. Jewel was also in Teen People magazine(backstreet boys on the cover, she's in the lower left hand corner of the front cover), page 104-106, with 9 poems from ANWA in there and quite a few pics of Jewel. ~Kevin vi:!1inbox:.l2-Ahq6X9dlkotaAJmGdfZayU:M:1 Free web-based email, Forever, From anywhere! http://www.mailexcite.com ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 05 Jul 1998 20:46:27 +0200 From: Jesse Houwing Subject: Re: Just a sugestion > Hello, EDAs! There should be one big fanclub for Jewel, but with several regional sub-clubs if you know what I mean. This way we could organize local and worldwide happenings. What would be different in a "jewel fan club"? Thanx... In my opinion, the biggest and most important difference is that an official fan club should not be computer dependant. It seems logical to me that an incredible vast majority of people who would like to join a fan club for any artist likely would not have email access. Therefore, it seems to me that any official fan club would have to base it via the old fashion way......paper/mail (i.e. a newsletter etc) Two years ago, Jewel's management was talking about getting a "Jewel newsletter" together, and I just talked with some list oldtimers about it and we all seem to remember talk of a "fan club" being associated with it, but we weren't certain. The newsletter project died in the summer of 1996 when the computer hard drive they (Jewel's management) were using to store all the newsletter info crashed and burned and all was lost. We haven't heard much info on it from them since then. So I just called Bibi (Jewel's Creative Director) for status on this newsletter but she wasn't home. I'm certain she'll call me back when she gets a chance. Anyway, the main point of my post here is that I certainly feel that any fan club will have to be mail oriented, and not computer/email oriented, although email and web stuff certainly could be included. While there are some limitaions to this list not being a fan club they are few and far between. Think about the advantages we have: Jewel writes us letters every once in a while, we are getting her to answer any 20 questions we want, etc. etc.. I don't think that an "official fan club" would give us many advantages over what this list is now-- besides maybe bragging rights. I think this list is absolutely wonderful. I've been on it for a quite some time...and its grown a great deal. Because we are 'everyday angels' already..what more do we want :) Like someone posted already...we get the chance to have jewel answer our questions...and she sends us letters every once in awhile...and when we have questions...we almost always get them answered :) because there are such great people on the list.
