I hope I get to meet Jewel. I thought I was gonna be real nervous talking to Rachal, becuase she was picking the person, but I wasn't. Now I just have to wait 3 weeks for her calL! ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 29 Jun 1998 17:36:42 -0500 From: Wyldfire Subject: FANatic... oh well, maybe next time. Ok... I bombed this one. I was _sooo_ nervous, and I tripped over my own tongue, and I must have rambled on like a loon. I'm surprised Rachel didn't just hang up on me. I told her about my favorite poem on ANWA (Tai Pei #2). Yeah, I know, it's depressing, but I can see her standing there, looking for someone to just be a friend, rather than a fan. (OK... that sounded a bit contrived... sorry.) Anyway, I feel really foolish. Hey, I hope one of you guys gets to interview her. If you do, it's almost as good as if I did, eh? Wyldfire, The Fallen Angel AKA Leif Hassell ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 30 Jun 1998 18:42:41 From: joe-schmo Subject: FANatic Wow....I just got my call back from Rachel at MTv. I cant belive she actually called back! For those of you that have not taken the steps to be a part of the FANatic experience, I would certainly encourage you to make that call. I would really like to see one of us EDAs get this opportunity with Jewel, and not one of those 'fly-by-night' fans out there. The questions Rachel asked me (i dont know if she asks the same ones of each person or not) were rather simple, yet challenging. The first question I think was Do you have Jewel's poetry book? - answer - yes Then, what is one of the poems that touches you the most deeply? - answer - i like Red Roof Inn - Boston because I think its simple, and really represents something that everybody can relate to. A relationship that has gone one way or another, and you find yourself alone, and doing simple little things that remind you of your love. The third question was something like how has Jewel influenced you? - answer - i think she has influenced me to be a better person, her music has made me focus more strongly on community service and helping out people in need. another question was something like why do you think your Jewel's biggest fan? answer - well...i cant reveal that answer, cuz I don't want any of you to beat me...hehe! JK! I'd really love to see one of us get this opportunity, so CALL IT! YOU CAN CALL COLLECT. Below is the message that MrBB sent to the list a few days ago. Hey everyone! I'm not really new to the list, I've been on it for a couple weeks now, but I've just been getting the idea of the list. So, I was wondering if anyone could help me by taping some angelfood for me, I would, obviously, supply the blank tapes and postage. I don't have any angelfood of my own because Jewel, and no one else for that matter, performs in Iowa, and my parents won't let me go to her out of state concerts, either because of lack of money, time, or trust, I guess. So, if anyone at all could help me out, it'd be GREATLY appreciated:) Just e-mail if you can help . . . THANKS:) An Everyday Angel ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 30 Jun 1998 22:56:59 EDT From: MAXMOUZE@aol.com Subject: The train is leaving. Hey, the EDA Cover Tape 2 train is leaving. Better get on before it's too late. Here's the basic run-down: Do you often sing along to Jewel's songs? Can you play guitar along with your Angelfood? Or, do you just want to show Jewel how much you love her? If so, you should participate in the 2nd EDA Cover Tape!!! Most of you are probably saying, "What the heck is an EDA Cover Tape?". Well, basically, it's a piece of Angelfood (Jewel-related tapes that EDAs collect) that has no Jewel on it, but instead EDAs singing Jewel's songs. The first one was suggested by Katie McCurry and Eric Montas took the task of organizing and putting the project together. I decided a lot of EDAs would like to participate again so I'm giving them another chance. With Eric's help, the second volume will be just as great as the first one. How do you participate? It's very simple. Just e-mail me at MAXMOUZE@aol.com and put "EDA COVER TAPE 2" in the subject. Then tell me what songs you want to do. You should have at least one song, and there is no maximum. However, please know that if you do too many, not all will be guaranteed to be on the tape [it only is 90 minutes long]. From here, I will provide you with more information. But, for now, I just need to know who is participating. We already have four tapes in, and they are all spectacutar. I can promise you that this tape will be amazing...so get involved before it is too late! So, get those tapes in, my little angels. Time is of the essence. That's about all I know about it. Below is some of the email I received announcing it. Mike :-) ***** Just want to let you that I am just a few hours away from posting the "Jewel Journal" for sale on the website. The Journal will sell for $14.95. The cover of the Journal has a colorfull drawing by Jewel with a beautiful gold foil border. The Journal is a Running Rhino "Jewel special edition".
