Knowing The EDAs are some of Jewel's most intelligent & thoughtful fans, Jewel's management are interested in the EDAs opinions on how best to improve live Jewel chats in the future. We all know the drawbacks of the formats used by AOL & Yahoo on the past two chats. In your opinion, how could these be improved & what would make them more enjoyable for you? We have set up a special address to send your thoughtful constructive suggestions to. Please do not use this to rant or simply critisize whats been done in the past, but please do send any helpful suggestions. Thoughtful suggestions will be considered. IMPORTANT!!! DO NOT simply reply to this message! Send your suggestions regarding Live Jewel Chats to: ChatFeedbk@aol.com Thanks, MrBB ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 11 Jun 1998 21:51:59 EDT From: ABershaw@aol.com Subject: MrBB-What to expect on Oprah As you all know by now, on Tuesday, June 9, Jewel taped the "Oprah Show". Oprah had her on for 3 segments (almost half the show). During segment one Jewel sang an incredibly passionate version (esp. at 9 am!) of "Who Will Save Your Soul." Segment two consisted of chat about her and the ANWA book. Originally, segment three was going to feature Jewel & Lenedra together, but they decided not to do this. Instead, segment three consisted of Jewel reading 2 poems, Oprah reading a poem, and together, they both read 2 poems (alternating stanzas). The air date is scheduled for July 22, but it may be moved up. Check your local television listings for exact air time. Weekly post, I agree that not everyone understands Jewel and that's just their loss. I also don't take the comment to heart that was written in the magazine but it is true that Ent. Weekly has been down on Jewel ever since the beginning. Eventhough they don't like her and understand her doesn't mean that they shouldn't be objective and try to at least be openminded about her. I think just because of those facts they think anything she does it's bad or stupid. They don't even try to find anything good about her. That's that, karen We are Everyday Angels - Jewel Kilcher ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 11 Jun 1998 23:09:59 EDT From: LuverMb20@aol.com Subject: jewel in mademoiselle Jewel was in my Mademoiselle magazine. Not a picture, but here's what it said::: "Day Jobs of the Rich and FAmous Think you're the only one in a less than wondeful line of work? Take a long look at what these celebs did for the almighty dollar before they made it big. Jewel: I did some ditchdigging, cow milking, waitressing, an secretary stuff. but the worst was when i had a job stacking hay bales" Isnt that neat? Obviously, the point of saying something like that is to get a rise out of people who would disagree. Don't give them the satisfaction of knowing they pissed you off (if they did). It only achieves their goal. Just my $0.02. ~Amy ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 11 Jun 1998 23:27:25 EDT From: bluenote8@juno.com (Brian M Jauw) Subject: Adrian I was wondering if anyone had any insight to the song Adrian? Is the story just a story, or is it a metaphor for something else? When she says "Adrian came home again last, things just haven't been the same 'round here," does she mean that Adrian woke up and came back, or does it mean that Adrian died and "went home." Any insight or different ideas are welcome. music is beauty. it is flowing and melodic, as we wish everything would be. in noise we hear the chaotic ramblings of our own petty existence. through the silence we find peace and clarity, wisdom and thought. but beware, for the silence also carries with it a great burden. that which you seek, may also be your undoing. for the silence also brings loneliness and pain, so beware. -Matthew Patrick Bonsoir mon amie! I just thought that I'd say that all of the great ones are misunderstood anyways, so we shouldn't let this little blurb get to any of us! I mean, look at Madonna and Tori Amos....does the media fully understand them and their purpose yet? I say we just leave them and then when Jewel is really popular, that guy who wrote those words will be choking on them and wishing he could take them back! Just my 2 cents....:-) Love, Lyn :-) ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 12 Jun 1998 00:30:14 EDT From: MAXMOUZE@aol.com Subject: Re: Entertainment Weekly sucks << I was thinking about what Entertainment weekly said about ANWA, and in pondering the suggestion of boycotting the mag, I say leave it alone. >> Guys, I was kidding. And, I repeat, I was joking about the boycotting because this is one in multiple Jewel slashes. They have slashed her everytime her name comes up, which was quite awhile. I know five accounts at hand. It's not this account, it's the fact that it is just another example of their harshness towards Jewel, who did nothing to deserve it. << I think you like a lot of EDAs take a shot at Jewel like they are taking a shot at you. Some of you just need to calm down and step off your soapbox, and thank God that you get it. >> I am not really taking it that seriously. My post was supposed to be read in humor. << However, I think we should write the magazine and tell them what we think. >> Guys, this is not necessary. I was joking around with the whole "Grr, Entertainment Weekly sucks" things. I was complaining, but the disliking of the magazine was said in humor. I really have no problems with the magazine, I was just trying to be funny. Mm__) ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V3 #323 ***************************
