They talked about her poetry; she said it was VERY different from her poetry and the things from her book would not be changed to songs. They also talked about her b-day. It's still on if you can catch it! Subject: Unfortunate accident While at Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ, I had between me and my mother $700 worth of stuff stolen from us. This was including my CD player with a CD I have that has Tiny Love Spaces and His Pleasure is My Pain and most of the songs from MTV Unplugged. Does anyone know where I can find these as a Real Audio file? If you could email me privately it would be a real help. Thanks!!! First, Jewel's road manager was told that the Jewel Charlie Rose taping DID happen on Monday, and he was told it would air tonight in most markets. I called the Charlie Rose show "hotline" and it said, well....didn't mention Jewel. (In other words, I'm not betting on it) So, I recommend taping it (one hour show) every night until it airs.....it's bound to happen soon. Remember, it's on PBS and can air anytime at all, as it's not nationally broadcasted....your local PBS station can air it when they please. Also, MrBB was told that today Jewel did tape those 5 off-air poem readings that will air on MTV at or about midnight on 5 consecutive evenings. We weren't told what night this will start. He and I are betting Monday....as five readings will fill the week....but it certainly could begin tonight or tomorrow. If taping, we recommend taping from 10 of to 10 after midnight. Also Part II, on Wednesday Jewel will be taping a CNN "Shobiz Today" segment, and no one at this time has any idea when it will air. (Could be Wednesday, could be Thursday) Not bad huh? News about three Jewel TV items and not at all sure when any of them will air? That's showbiz!! ;-) Of course the ONE thing we know for sure is Jewel singing two songs on the Rolling Stone special on ABC TV on Thursday night. :-) That's all folks :-) Mike ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 19 May 1998 19:49:07 -0700 From: lemon16@juno.com (Eliot J Lemoncelli) Subject: Re: Jewel-News: Jewel Scratches Surface With First Volume Of Poetry Critics suck!!!!! They analysis things to much. As the lyrics from Steve Poltz's song say "What once was so precious, has now become lame." From what I have heard recited or read. Jewel's poetry is great. I am definitely buying a copy. I just don't know whether to buy the book or CD. Subject: Virgin Reading Heya feller EDAz: Welp.. just got back from the Virgin Reading here in NYC. I thought it went pretty nicely. Of course you'll always run into the rude people and some real a-holes who were Virgin employees. I knew that cameras weren't permitted, but I noticed that after the whole thing some of the people who worked for security asked for the rolls of film and disposable cameras from those who were caught taking pictures. This may have been Jewel's request, but I don't see the point of asking for them back when the whole thing was over... I don't know, that's me. Maybe there's a whole point to it or something. Perhaps people would start selling them and make money off of them. I don't know. But as I digress, I thought the whole thing was pretty cool. I met some fellow EDAz who I thought were pretty cool... I also recognized a few others but well, I figured it would be better if I don't disturb their peace :) So, let me take the time here to say Hi... Hi :) Anyway, I should really get going as I have two finals to study for. Ugh. Probably more to come tomorrow or the day after. Jason Keis aka DRulz "The Heavy Metal Angel" PS Anybody like Metallica or Pink Floyd? :P ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 19 May 1998 17:32:41 PDT From: "Oink oink" Subject: I Got My Copy Of ANWA!!!! Good Lord! (The following is just my adventure to San Francisco to get my pre-signed copy of A Night Without Armor. If you want the important stuff, my opionion of the book, skip down to *** ) You would not understand the ordeal I went through to get my pre-signed copy of A Night Without Armor! But I must tell you it was entirely worth the hassle :) I got up at 6am and pretended to go to school (I cut classes for the day) and I met my bud Saul and we took the bus to the bus station. We had no idea where we were going, we just hoped that the maps and stuff at the transit centers would be enough. We arrived at the bus station and looked at the map to figure out our rout to San Francisco which is about 1 1/2 away from where I live. We got on the bus which took about 40 min., got on another bus that was another 30 min., then took the BART train from Fremont to San Francisco = another hour. We realized that we had gotten off at the wrong stop, so we ate lunch and turned around. Then we went walking down the street for about 10 min., when we realized that we were going the wrong way! So we turned around and walked for about 15 min., and found it! The Virgin Megastore!!!! I was in awe! I'd never been there before, and it's huge! I walked in and I had no idea where the books were. The were hidden behind another showcase, but I didn't see any signature, so I grabbed one of the books and flipped through it and lo and behold, there it was on one of the front pages of the book. I ended up buying four books, for EDA's that couldn't make it, the spoken CD, a Foolish Games import, and the movie Love & A .45 which has no word relevance to Jewel at all. I even persuaded one of the salesman to save all the Jewel posters for me so I can come back on Thursday and pick them up. "That's the power of a woman, oh-oh..." What a sweetheart!! ***My long ride home was nothing because I had ANWA to read and that was surprising because I'm really not into poetry. Probably because I'm so used to reading so much teenage, angst-ridden love poems that I could spew them out every crevice of my body and make myself sick. But I really enjoyed this book. THOROUGHLY enjoyed it all the way from the front to the end. I highly advise you to go out and buy this book! It's a great book and very reflective. You feel as if you're on the road with her and see a part of her that you can't comprehend by just seeing her perform in concert. Love, Nancy the angel who breaks everything sometimes **Hehe, there was an old lady looking at her book so I went up to her and urged her to buy it...and she did, even though she never even heard of Jewel!!! ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 19 May 1998 22:07:43 EDT From: EDAngel1 Subject: JC: Signed Poetry Book in Los Angeles (MANY are still left) Fellow EDAs :) I just wanted to let you know that when I went to buy my pre-signed poetry book today at the Virgin Megastore in Los Angeles at around 10 AM they still had a lot left.
