Sender: owner-jewel@smoe.org Precedence: bulk Hello again :) >Jewel carries a piece of alaska in a plastic container everywhere she goes. What's in the container?< This might come a little late, but for those people who have pondered this question also...Jewel did at one time carry a tupperware of Alaskan soil from the homestead she lived on as a child. Last I heard of the "dirt" it was dumped somewhere durring a European tour cause it was becoming a real hassle going through customs. CA EDAs Hi folks, Ok, so it sounds stupid and completly irrelevent to everthing thats going on. But since somebody brought up that they are going to the Costa Mesa Virgin MegaStore, anybody want to get there early say 9:15-ish and have a coffee? Sure, its hell to drive on the 55 at that time of morning(trust me, I take it everday to school) I might actually be crazy enough to get out of bed before Kevin and Bean are finished. But wait! The store clerk I talked to on Thursday said (pretty sincerly) that Tues. aren't busy at all and wouldn't be suprised if the books don't sell like hot-cakes right after the store opens. Two posts the same day, what are the odds! :-) GpA -- Guitar playin Angel Alex ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 16 May 1998 10:52:20 +0000 From: angerica@ndirect.co.uk Subject: Angelfood Hey Guys! Welp... it's a day after and here I am at work (not really working).... pretty bored as hell, but anyway, I can't help but think what Tuesday's going to be like. It should be interesting. I have recently become a huge fan of hers, so the implication can be made that I have not gone to any of her concerts. At least this gives me an opportunity to see her, even though she will not perform (eh, who knows? :) ... but I can certainly say that when she does come to the New York City / Long Island area after her next album comes out, I'll be there! By the way... for those of you who may be interested, I was the long haired (brown) guy on line dressed in black, about the 15th-20th person from the front.... I was too involved in the Howard Stern show, so for those of you who saw me laughing by myself, that's why... I am not a looney or anything hehehe. ::sigh:: Wendesday morning I have a freakin' final... eh, who cares :) Jason Keis aka DRulz "The Heavy Metal Angel" ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 16 May 1998 09:04:45 PDT From: "Jennifer Caputo" Subject: NJC: Steve Poltz Concert! I think you can buy them through Ticketmaster or win them from the radio station! Hope to see you all there :) Love, Jen ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 16 May 1998 17:53:08 -0000 From: msinghaus@msmisp.com (Melissa Singhaus) Subject: Jewel page need help I want to put a jewel page up contected to my home page with my angelfood listings how would I go about doing it or can someone help me set it up. Southern Ontario EDAs: Get "A Night Without Armour" now!! In Mississauga, at the Square One location of Chapters bookstore, there are 5 copies of the book on hand. If you don't see a copy in the poetry section, try the display tables in the middle aisle of the store. I work there, and actually I order for the poetry section. A brief review: I had a chance to browse the book and though I'm happy for Jewel to have gotten this opportunity to publish her poems, I have to say that you'd be doing yourself a disservice if "A Night Without Armor" is the only poetry book you bought this year. Do yourself a favour when picking up a copy of Jewel's book; grab a book by someone whose entire living is made as a poet. Though in all fairness, I gathered that most of the poems are a few years old and she may very well have grown as a poet since the book's works were compiled. That is, the poems contain occasional flashes of a true poet's insight and craftsmanship, but the overall impression is generally one of potential, not achievement.
