I have to do this at school, and not from home, so if you send it here, I might not be able to handle it. You have until tomorrow afternoon here, which is tomorrow very early morning in the US. It's been reported that there is one related to the upcoming Rolling Stone Magazine TV Special on May 21st. They both were together during the filming of this so it is certainly possible. We've looked but can't find it. If you know which magazine this photo appeared in, please write me with Magazine name, Issue # & page # if possible. Thanks! OMG...i am glad sumone else noticed how horrible it is in there!!! i tried a couple of times to post sumthing or ask a question and nobody replied...plus the only jewel content is jillions of binaries...im sure tons of ppl love those...but i dont...if jewel was horrificly ugly i would love her music her words her nonphysical beauty...i am not very net savvy but i was under the impression that binaries shouldnt be posted in a newsgroup unless it was specificly a binary group...i could be wrong...anyway after a few weeks of checking out the newsgroup i gave up and deleted the link from my favorite places folder... kat zelda ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 10 May 1998 17:40:28 -0400 From: "Rebecca Kramer" Subject: RE: jewel-digest V3 #254 Hi! IRCle seems to be the most popular and is still being updated. I think there's a www.ircle.com. You can also search shareware.com and filez.com for it. Well, I just finished watching the YTV airing of The Wizard of Oz, with Jewel playing the part of Dorothy. Normally I wouldn't watch something like that if you paid me, but since Jewel was in it, I knew I had to sit down and have a look. And I must say, she was fabulous! The play itself was actually not very good, but Jewel's singing was beautiful and her voice was in top form. I don't usually enjoy musicals or theater, but it's hard not to like one where the star is as beautiful and stunning as Jewel !!! Steve P.S. Has anyone heard anything about when Jewel's new album will be coming out?? I am looking foward to it!! ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 10 May 1998 16:26:05 EDT From: ABershaw Subject: Re: heart song jewel book In a message dated 5/10/98 11:17:59 AM, FanOJewel@aol.com wrote: <> Hi Anna & anyone else interested, I also checked out this book. It's not bad & does have a decent overall perspective on Jewel. I can't speak for Mike or Adam (POJ Website Wizard), but I had absolutely nothing to do with this book & I don't know if Scott (the author) is on the EDA list or not. I would assume he is (or was), because most of the book is common EDA knowledge. As far as the similarity between my Performance Chronology (I keep this on Adam's site) & Early Jewel History (I keep this on Mike's site), I could certainly be mistaken but its possible that Scott "helped himself" to my work without giving any credit. I've come to expect this happening. I did notice mistakes that I had in previous versions of the above mentioned projects included in his book. (That's what happens when you can't or don't bother to check your sources, of course.) There are several unauthorized biographers out there & its quite easy for them to take their info from free online resources such as these two popular Jewel websites. Scott never contacted me, but several other unauthorized biographers have written me to tell me that they've "taken the liberty of using my work". I can refuse permission, but there's really not much I can do about it, if I want to keep this information free & available to the vast majority of you, which I do. I'm sure there will be many other unauthorized biographies written on Jewel in the coming months because there's a market for them. Read them if you like, but keep in mind Jewel has nothing to do with these projects & mistakes & wrong information will be included among correct info. Also, Jewel will be putting out a second book next year that will make all these unauthorized books obsolete. There are plans for me to help on various aspects of that. I also gained far more insight into Jewel by reading her soon to be released poetry book (A Night Without Armour), than any unauthorized bio could hope to provide. I highly recommend buying that when it comes out in a week or so. I'm not putting Scott down, because his book was a pleasant read & he obviously appreciates Jewel's talent. I don't think any EDAs familiar with my posts & online resources will find much they didn't know before though. Although I want no part of unauthorized Jewel projects, Scott's book will probably help educate many Jewel fans not on the Internet or this mailing list. That's my take on it.
