Which means the lyric can be easily changed so depending on what tape you listen to Chime Bells on there might be a difference. I no nothing about yodeling but I just tried to write what I heard. I was reading through the newspaper today and I came across an article that mentioned Jewel. It is a very small article and is quite insignificant, but I thought I'd post it anyways. When Sara Vowell of Salon heard about a little book called "Who Killed Kurt Cobain: The Mysterious Death of an Icon", written by Ian Halperin and Max Wallace, she got to thinking--well, her first thought was, of course, Kurt Cobain killed Kurt Cobain. But if publishers are lucricously accusing Cobain's widow, Courtney Love, of hiring an assassin to do away with him, as this book does--then what will they publish next? Here's Ms.Vowell on the books she expects to review in the coming months: Lilith Fair's Uncivil War: Explores the East Coast/West Coast singer- songerwriter feud, the origin of which appears to be Lisa Loeb's alleged drive-by accusation that Jewel "looks fat." Ms. Loeb denies the rumours, claiming she called the coffeehouse crooner "phat, as in, like, good." Canadian girl guru Sarah McLachlan stepped in and denounced such violence, asking, "Can't we all just get along?" from the set of the video shoot for her hit calorie-counting single, 'Get Twiggy With It'. There were other 'book reviews', but this was the only one with Jewel content. Keep in mind that these were probably written with comedy in mind and not to be taken seriously. :) See ya, Melissa the angel who learned how to drive. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 26 Apr 1998 10:12:59 -1000 From: "Tanja Clark" Subject: saw Steve's video !! It's called Music Awards Dance Party '98. It has a lot of popular songs on it (MMMBop, Bitch, FG, I Believe I Can Fly, and others) in a continual dance mix thingy. I haven't heard it yet so I can't comment on the quality. Other info: Producer: 1 AM for CMA Entertainment Mixed by Jean-Claude for H20 productions If you want more info or whatever the web-site on the CD is www.masscot.com/aureus If you want to find it at your local record store the SKU # is 026656471025. It may be hard for the record store employee to look up the not so popular yet CDs. I have been on this digest forever it seems, I just don't say that much, call me quiet, I guess! But I have a favor to ask of any angel that is nice and quite giving! See, last year, I went to the Lilith Fair in Atlanta, GA, and it was so so so great. My favorite act tho, was Miss Jewel, of course, and it was such a great memory. My question is, does anyone have the preformance that she did on tape, and could anyone dub it for me? It would mean so very much to me. If any of you have this on tape, please e-mail me privately. Thank you all very much in advance. Planning for Jewel's birthday video is already underway. A video tape will be made for all North California EDA's. If you'd like to be in it to send Jewel birthday greetings, please contact me by sending me an e-mail! This will not be a simple "hi" and "goodbye" video. We will be deciding on an organization that we could donate our time to by helping others in need. We will videotape that and the time we volunteer will be our birthday gift to Jewel. And yes, you will get your chance to tell Jewel happy birthday on the video. This will give us a chance to meet one another, present Jewel with a birhtday gift and do something good for the community. So all Northern California EDA's please e-mail me right away as we have a very limited amount of time until Jewel's birthday! This especially goes to Bay Area EDA's as I'm located in San Jose. Also, any EDA's ages 14-18 in N. California please e-mail me as well for a volunteer oppurtunity at a local camp for disabled children. There's so much to do in so little time! So please e-mail me soon :) Love, Nancy the angel who breaks everything sometimes *clumsy* ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 26 Apr 1998 21:46:27 -0500 (EST) From: Jennifer Anderson Subject: Birthday stuff hey all. i've been talking to MrBB and he is really concerned that all of the birthday planning is going to get out of hand. we need to decide once and for all just what exactly we are going to do and stick to it. he said that if this turns into something where several different things are going to be sent, then he'll force us to send it to the PO Box address given in the POY album. i know i don't want that to happen because more than likely she won't get it by her birthday, since she gets so much mail everyday, if she gets it at all. i know the card idea has gotten tremendous response so far. i'm going to set a cut-off date, though, to make sure that i have time to do all of the cutting, pasting, and still leave enough time for it to get through the mail. i think that if i don't have your notes/pics/signatures by may 13, then i won't be able to include it. SO HURRY!!! i want as many people who want to do this to be able to do it, but if there aren't "rules" then it won't be able to happen anyway. here are some of the things MrBB told me: - --- >>If this becomes a situation where many different EDAs want to send seperate cards, I cannot organize or accept any of them. >>I have no problem helping on a "once a year" birthday project that includes EVERY EDA that wants to be included, but its important that I'm not put in a position of "playing favorites" with any one smaller project. - --- so we definitely need to just pick one or two things to do and do ONLY those things agreed upon by the lists. if we don't, then jewel might not get any of our stuff. so, do we want to do the video and the card? my understanding is that the videos from each state will be sent to one person who will then edit everything into just one tape, right? if that's the case, then i don't think MrBB will have a problem getting ONE card and ONE video to jewel. but if this isn't the case, and people are coming up with more ideas of things to do, then we need to decide which we will do. if it means scrapping the card, then i would be willing to do that...as long as everyone else wants to, too. but so many people have responded to me about wanting to do the card, that i don't think we should scrap it. i don't know how people are responding to the videos yet. so, one video and one card...does that sound good to everyone?? jennie ****************************************************************************** "I never apologize, sweetie.
