Jewel's friend Bibi is her Creative Director and among other things she is in charge of the Jewel website. I just asked her, and she wants me to publicize this on the list. The question: Is it OK to 'snatch' pictures and/or graphics from the official Jewel website? Answer: Yes and no....it IS alright to snatch pictures and graphics to just print out and/or to use as personal wallpaper on your computer and/or to use on J-cards for tapes etc. However it is NOT alright to put any of them on another website. All of the pictures and graphics are copyrighted and she said that soon there will be a tagline on most of the pages clarifying this. So, if any of you have used any of the pictures and/or graphics from the official Jewel website on your webpage, could you please take them down? :-) Mike :-) * If you are new to the Jewel list and need a helping hand * The Jewel EveryDay Angels List Homepage & Guide is at: * http://www.spectra.net/~ducksoup * * If you have list related questions, feel free to email me * at Ducksoup@spectra.net * * DuckofPrey@aol.com WhyADuck55 on AOL Instant Messenger ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 20 Mar 1998 18:30:07 +0100 From: Marcel Ummelen Subject: YWMFM single Netherlands Hello angels, Maybe this gets bored but I have to tell you all about the single. The history: First I thought it would be something special. The record-store told me and I believed that. Secondly I got a copy of the recordcompany Warner Music and that was looking like the "normal cardboard single UK" with just one number in the ID different. And tonight I bought three copies (for two angels also) of the limited edition. OK, what are the differences: 1. UK single: Cover is laying Jewel on red blanket 2. Cardboard single Warner: Cover is same as 1, number ID is different (=7567-85463-9) 3. Limited single: Cover is Jewel with big blue guitar on a street with trees looking down(50%) and other side (vertical line-switch)is blue with Jewel in gold/brown characters and YWMFM in white beneath it. Number is 7567-85463-2. Plastic cover !!!! Not set in discography this picture on any cd..... 2 is a white cd (cd itself) and 3 is a dark-blue cd (1 I don't know.... ) setlists are all the same (YWMFM / Cold Song / Rocker Girl) The questions are: a. How limited (special) is the single-cd? b. Is i/was it available in other countries? c. How many copies are sold approximately do you think? d. What color has the UK single (1) cd (cd itself). e. Are here people on this list who can tell me more about the singles that are shown at the website of "Pieces Of Jewel" discography ???? Thanks for your time. Hope we can learn from eachother ;-)) Marcel. I am very obsessed about this great artist of the US. I have already trying to contact fans in the netherlands and they are in a limited number still.I do think in the Netherlands we have to make Jewel more famous by starting a fanclub. If there are any every day angels who want to help me with this job please let me know. When we share all our passion and commitment for the one & only Jewel we can make this thing really doing well. I suggest to get contacting all you Jewelfans and then we can start trade information about Jewel, exchange records or tapes or video's of her so that we can make eachother happy and very pleased. Jewel's songs are all special, every song has his own story and this is the power that suits the artist Jewel. I want to tell you all that Jewel deserves all the attention we can give her. In the US she's really 'big' from nothing to really Stardom and now i want to try with all your help to lift of her career in our Europe. I have one finaly quote : 'Jewel fans will grow rapidly into the most dedicated musicfans of the world'. JK: I was going onstage after Garbage at a festival one time, and Shirley Manson was so cool and the sound was huge. Meanwhile, I had on clogs and a litle yellow skirt. I thought, I'm such a dork! YM: Ever freak about your weight like the rest of us mortals? JK : Well, at photo shoots, the clothes they put you in are one size too small, so you always feel really fat. Also, anyone within reasonable distance of Los Angeles should do whatever is needed to get yourself to CLB's "Farewell to the Garage Orchestra" gig at Genghis Cohen in Los Angeles on Saturday March 27th. This show is being filmed & recorded and will no doubt be a very memorable night! Wish I could get to any of these shows, but alas, I'm on the other coast.... Cindy Lee did mention a tour is being put together for May, with dates in NYC, Boston, Arlington & various other East Coast major cities, though. :-) More info as I get it. I saw Jewel & the Rugburns last year in DC and loved the show (of course), so I'm glad I joined in time to hear the buzz about Steve Poltz's album, which I went out last night and bought. It's great! But of course you already know that. To get to the point of this post, I made a template for j-cards using microsoft publisher, so if any of you would be interested in using it, email me and I'll send it to you. The file is 600KB, or 300KB zipped. I use it as a tri-fold so that it has room for a real front with a picture and title, and then two more flaps, one for each side of the tape. It's handy because you have a lot of room for song titles and artists if you're making yourself compilation tapes, or venues and dates if you're compiling performance songs. I've noticed a couple of posts about j-cards so thought I'd share if any of you are interested...
