Hello, god i hope this works and posts to the list. 3 days ago i went to a market research focus group. They pay you for your opinion about products that a company wants to bring into the market. Well one of the things that they asked us about was a lilith fair doll set, with sarah, fiona, and jewel! The doll looked life like, and it would come with a replica of her van. Keep your eyes open, the should be on the market within a year, bye now:) ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 8 Mar 1998 08:35:13 -0500 From: thumbkin@juno.com (Christa L Hinman) Subject: thanks Hi all you EDAs out there in computerland~ I just wanted to thank all of you who sent me the lyrics to the songs I requested. I just wanted to thank all of you who sent me that and to all of you who didn't send me the lyrics- please don't send me anymore for those songs. Thanks for all your help! I have one more thing- does anyone have the lyrics to the song Tiny Love Spaces? If so could you please Email me provetly with those lyrics? thanks! I was the first person to post an "anti-advance tickets" sentiment, and in the week or so since then, I've gotten a little under 80 flames. A very large part of this was my fault. The tone of my letters was a bit (okay, QUITE a bit) lampooning and satirical, and through the wonder that is the written word, I was misinterpreted as being a mean spirited ole' SOB. Nonetheless, if I angered or offended anyone, I sincerely apologize. The other reason I'm writing is to let everyone know that I've heard all the reasons I'm a stupid, cold hearted, down right mean person, all the reasons I'm not a true fan, and don't "get" Jewel's music/message, all the reasons I should shut up, all the reasons I should go to hell, a few reasons why I should die, and every expletive known to man. Now, I'm sure you'll be glad to know that none of this has hurt my feelings (in fact I've been quite amused at some of the more hateful responses I've gotten), but it's just getting kind of annoying. So pretty please with sugar on top, cut it out, and if you do, I'll be your best friend :) Thanks, Paul Allor PS: I also recieved many many civil, well though out letters of disagreement. I appreciate your opinions, and that you took the time to voice them, and am not including you in the above total. Okay, bye guys! ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 8 Mar 1998 08:29:17 EST From: Dgw8340 Subject: Re: jewel-digest V3 #154 I haven't been on AOL for about 7 months now b/c of my modem. Now, I'm I am truly saddened by this. I look to this list as some kind of escape from the apathetic, cold, cruel people I have to deal with in everyday life. I am quite a cynic, but seeing all the good, unselfish deeds list members have done often reminds me that there still are good people left in the world. I've always believed most of the people on this list to be above that, above making such unnecessary and downright cruel comments to someone who was only stating his opinion. Of course, it's fine to have different opinions, and it's fine to express those, but it can be done in a more civil way that name calling and expletives. I think we should all go listen (really listen) to I'm Sensitive, it might do some good, and help us remember why we are all here... I would love a Jewel doll. I have a collection of "stars as dolls" not to mention all the "ethnic" Barbie dolls. I love dolls. I still play with them :) hehe I like to hold rock concerts and pretend they're singing - no joke! So if there were a Jewel doll I would definitely get one and then I would have an ACTUAL singer. I could stage my own jewel concerts with my Barbie dolls and stuff with some angelfood :) Oh yeah I'm 16 too BTW, so no "LITTLE GIRLS SHOULDn"T BE ON HERE" flames.. Hey.. I have to agree with Jan on this one... Making a doll of a singer that represents so much, seems rather pathetic, and also a waste of time.. It will be nice for the younger generations to have this doll to look up to, but they won't know the "true" meaning behind the doll.. Most of them will just see the pretty face, and nice figure or whatever. But Jewel doesn't mean anything like that.. But, because this list has become mainstream and everyone who has ever *heard of* Jewel is on it, we have more members who are negative and un-EDAlike. The winner gets them, it is fairer than first come first serve. All you would have to do is replace my tapes with blanks. Also I have a poster that is identical to the cd cover.
