Just a bit of trivia FYI: The guy who jammed topless onstage with Bob Dylan at the Grammies had a little interview afterwards, and basically said that the phrase soy bomb means something like (i'm paraphrasing here, cuz I can't find the article agani :/ ) soy is nutrition, natural, good for you, etc, and a bomb is explosive, encompassing, etc, so a "soy bomb" is basically what this guy envisions that all music should be. On the assumption that by and large he's as cool with tapeheads/copiers as Jewel is, if anyone wants a copy of this ~40 minute interview/miniconcert, let me know & I'll copy it for you. It's not the world's highest-quality taping job, but hey, the stories that he tells are worth suffering the technical imperfections :) Steve is out promoting his new album, due out on March 17 as he kept reminding the listening audience, so he may be/is likely to be doing several other of these appearances/interviews in other cities. Maybe someone w/ more knowledge of his schedule could post it to the list?? He didn't bring his itinerary up during the interview. Acceptable-quality sound job, some funny stories that he told, + about five songs [I don't have the tape with me as I post], all cover versions of Dokken & Motorhead classics :-) (no, actually, YWMFM, Silver Lining, + other originals from "One Left Shoe"). This is not limited to her lyrics or voice. Besides thse aspects, I like how she talks about the songs and socializes with her fans. She does not just throw out songs and leave. She seems to enjoy being on stage and performing. I also like how when people are obnoxious or are not courteous of her, she tells them so. This shows self-assurance, but not in an obnoxious way. She is not afraid to tell people when the have stepped out of line. And she always kind about it or witty. I was talking to famous Atlantic record producer Tom Dowd today, he was the first producer hired by Atlantic 50 years ago, and he told me the situation with the 50th anniversary concert. Apparently, they had planned for it to be this month or next month. However, they found that with the NCAA tournament, the NIT, the Circus, and a bunch of other things I've forgotten, MSG is totally booked. So he said that they were going to try to have it in May or June, looking more like June than May.
