Hi! Two things on my mind today. First, you know how I wrote you guys, excitied that at my school's talent show, someone would be singing "Carnivore" well, the person took credit for writing the song! The MC said in hr intro somehting to the affect of "And next ew have Jennifer Sampson, who wrote and song just for tonights show, Carnivore" and sure enough, it was Jewel's Carnivore? The time I was on this mailing list was great because I got the opportunity to learn new things about Jewel. I also got the chance to get acquainted with new people whom I now call friends. I joined this list a few months ago to learn about Jewel, hear and express different opinions on her. The one time I express my opinion, I get flamed. I got all this hate mail. I expressed my opinion in a respective manner guys. I didn't say anything vulgar. I aknowledge the fact that not many people agredd with what I said but nonetheless that's my opinion and it was thought over. I thought you gusy had more respect for your fellow EDA's. People join this list because they like Jewel and want to meet others who feel the same way. So as a group with a common interest why can't we all get along and respect each other? I got a reply from a certain person stating that I was jealous of Jewel. This person also started telling me what Jewel wanted in life and just because my life wasn't all that great. That's why I'm jealous of Jewel. For one, I am very satisfied with my life and I'm not jealous of Jewel. She has found success millions yearn for and I'm happy and proud. Another person ininuated that I was being a poster girl for telling everyone how Jewel was conceited. Never once in my post had I mentionned she was conceited. Other posts had said that. I also got put down and ridiculed because of some of my music tastes. For all of you that read my post...I was just expressing my opinions on the changes in Jewel. Then this other person wrote a very vulgar reply stating that he hated me and I was "f***ing dumb" because I was flaming his fave artist. I did not mean to offend anyone in any way. I though that EDA's were nicer and better than that. That they could rise from this immaturity present in this list. I'm not talking about all EDA's. Some have been respectful and nice. It's just that the majority was vulgar hate mail. Maybe I'll come back on this list. I don't know. Parting from this is much better right now. For all of you that are insulted by my post...I love Jewel's music. I will buy her new CD when it comes out. It's this list that made me a bit bitter about Jewel I guess. Jewel is a human person like all of us. Some people treat her and put her up on a pedestal as if she's a God. There's nothing wrong with that. But if someone disagrees with you on something, you should have enough respect to be nice to them because it's hard to express your opinion. Some of you flamed people for assuming things on Jewel's life etc...Then you guys acted as if you were her best freind knowing everything about her..her thoghts etc...Nothing wrong with that. But give your peer some respect. We all live on the same planet. We all eat, we all sleep, we all breathe, we all have a heart that beats...There are just some things we won't have in common. Like opinions and tastes or even beliefs. There are more than one side to a story.It just depends whom is telling the story. Well that's all...It was long and boring but I had to let it all out. To tell you the truth, I am deeply hurt of the cruelty amongt some here. Jewel is not a cruel person. In my opinion she has alot of compassion for others. So why don't some of you? For some reason, it seems that the longer anyone is on the list, the less they post. Anyway, I was out last night on Front St. here in Toronto, eating at a wonderful restaurant, and I looked out the window across the street, and I saw "C'est What?" - for you newbies, the cafe that got Jewel started (or at least close) up here in Canada. Well, looking at this cafe, I was thinking how even though a person's fame makes you proud of their accomplishments, it at the same time makes you the selfish child that just wants, in this case, Jewel all to yourself. On that note, my favourite Jewel performance was here at Danforth Music Hall, where myself and six (?) other friends got to go up on stage to help Jewel with some forgotten lyrics, and to give her "watercolored roses".... I'm afraid the next time she comes to Canada, she'll be at Maple Leaf Gardens, or some other big venue and her intimacy will be taken away.... way to go Jewel for making it big...but the child in me, misses being at a concert, able to touch your feet, and rest on your monitors. :) Please don't flame...I'm not criticizing.
