Unlike all of you lucky EDAs I have never seen Jewel live, I have only seen Leno and Rosie. I liked the one on Rosie because, well, she just seemed so much happier on that show. Anyways, that all for now. Bye Majick The Racecar Driving Angel ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 13 Feb 1998 20:17:52 -0500 From: "Daniels" Subject: Post Number two from this Newbie! Hello Fellow EDA's! Well, I have a few things. It seems that everyone gives themselves an Angel name...So I will too. If I take a name and someone else already has that one, tell me and I will change it! Next. I will tell you about myself. I live in Ontario, Canada and I was hooked on Jewel the first time I heard "You Were Meant For Me" on Much Music. I'm 15 and that is all I guess. Now I have a request for you Angels, any lyrics not from POY, could you send them to me, I would like to know what other songs she has on the go! Thanks! Amy (let me think of a good angel name) ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 13 Feb 1998 21:36:36 EST From: PENNY16161@aol.com Subject: POLL #11 RESULTS Here are the results from last week's poll - show you would most want to see Jewel on (that she hasn't been on ever or at least in the last 6 months): Oprah - 48 votes Politically Incorrect - 25 votes MTV Live - 23 votes Conan O'Brien - 8 votes RuPaul - 5 votes Although not one of the choices, a good "write-in" show was Loveline. Thanks to everyone who voted. I will post the next poll on Monday because I am going away this weekend. Until then... Greenfield" Subject: Re: fav performance Ok, I'll confess: > Where did your favorite performance by Jewel take place (live or on > TV) and why? > > My favorite Jewel performance was the first time I saw her live: November 15, 1995 -- she sang 3 songs as part of a benefit for the homeless in Hollywood, CA. At that time, I had only heard POY, I was already a fan, but I didn't know any other Jewel fans, I didn't even have a computer. She yodeled. The little bit of hair I have left stood on end. A close 2d is the first "full" performance I saw: at The Roxy in L.A. on February 29, 1996. She was captivating. Lenedra sang "Little Bird" with her, and "Rudolf," too! I still get chills thinking about that show. Now, Jewel is older and wiser, Lenedra is younger and healthier, and I am older and more foolish. We were lucky enough last Monday to get invited by Joe to a live tapeing of Jewel for the Rolling Stone anniversary show that will be showing on ABC in May. She got to play three songs for it, The Winter Song,Fat Boy, and Silver Lining, which she sang with Steve Poltz. She had to sing them all three times. For all of the people out there who think she got stuck up all of a sudden she didn't get snotty with any of the directors or the audience. She looked wonderful. ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V3 #110 ***************************
