"Foolish Games"/"You Were Meant for Me" rebounded from No. 29 to No. 25 in its 60th consecutive week. That equals the non-consecutive 60-week run of Los Del Rio's "Macarena (Bayside Boys Mix)," but JEWEL will set the record next week when the single reaches its 61st chart week. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 12 Jan 1998 20:38:55 -0800 From: "Marc S. Maybe I'm just showing my age. I can't wait for the new Rumours Revisited album to come out! Fleetwood Mac is one of my favorite bands (hey, I'm 36--I was there the FIRST time FM was hot!) and I'm really glad to see the resurgence of interest in the band! I urge you to check out the original Rumours...it really was (still is) a great album. Anyway, the roster of artists appearing sounds great...and I know Jewel will do a great job with "You Make Loving Fun". Now, to how I first "found" Jewel... my wife and I were watching TBS and they were airing The Wizard of Oz in concert. We tuned in about halfway through...and we recognized Jackson Browne (Scarecrow), Nathan Lane (Lion), Roger Daltrey (Tin Man) and Joel Gray (Wizard)...but couldn't figure out who was that blond angel portraying Dorothy! So about two weeks later I'm watching VH1 and there she is again singing WWSYS! I had to know more. Found out her name (Jewel? just Jewel? no last name?), got the POY CD for my birthday...and i was hooked! That's why I'm glad to have found this list, and all of you. Even though I'm twice the age of most of you (boy did that hurt to write that!) at least we share a common bond... the enjoyment of Jewel's music, and a respect for her writing, singing, and talent! Okay...I've rambled enough for one evening. Don't forget to check out Rumours and let me know what you think!
