First the Jewel content... as most of you probably already know, Foolish Games was #2 on VH1's Top 50 Videos of 1997. Yay Jewel!!! I must say though, first, to lose to The Wallflowers of all people is a little disappointing. Also, I was a little surprised that it was FG that was chosen as #2. For it to beat out 47 other videos is quite an accomplishment, but I was hoping that if anything, that YWMFM would've done better, considering the fact that such an "unplayable" song was their #1 video for quite some time. But hey, Jewel is #2, whether it's with FG or whatever, and we should be very proud of her for it!! :-) Since I was only able to catch the top 3 videos, how did Sarah's "Building a Mystery" do on the coundown? Thanks!! Ok, now the njc/ntc: Tonight I went to see the movie Titanic, and if you guys get the chance... GO SEE THIS MOVIE!!! It's absolutely incredible. I haven't been left absolutely speechless after a movie since Schindler's List... Titanic is that powerful of a movie. I don't think there was a dry eye in the theater at the end. After a couple listens of that sweet song I thought of my Grandfather, who had passed away in May (?), 1985. I see him as my Gaurdian Angel. When I was young, he really was an inspiration to me, and he still is. He had a disability of his own, but that did not bring him down. He never gave up, and neither have I. He stood up for himself. He was a strong-willed man. I remember my family went to a restaurant for lunch and my Grandfather had tripped, and I saved his fall. I remember that so vividly! The reasons I consider him my Gaurdian Angel: 1) In the Summer of 1985, I had undergone surgery and I had gotten an infection in my leg from dirty surgical instruments. I had gotten Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS). I was given 48 hours to live; I made it in 52. God and my Grandfather were "watching over me." 2) At my high schhol Graduation, I was walking on our school's gym floor to receive my diploma, and my crutch had slipped on the shiny surface. To this day, I believe Grampa saved me from falling. 3) My parents and I were watching Sightings on the Sci-Fi Channel a while back. One segment of the show was about how deceased loved ones communicate with the living. My mother spoke up and told me that during the first four months when we first moved in 1987, my Grandfather's picture, that was on the living room TV, had turned during the night to look upstairs. I guess he was looking after us. I neve knew this before! And ironically, Grampa's picture did the same thing after we had watched that show!! Isn't that wild! We haven't noticed it for a while, but I have enjoyed it! Does anyone else have simillar stories to share. E-Mail me if you have. I really would like to know!
