I'm still around........just very busy...but I still follow things. Anyway, stuck inside in this crazy rainy Florida weather, I had a weird vision. I was watching a classic clip of Elton John singing Benny and the Jets with the muppets. And I saw Jewel as a would be perfect guest on the old Muppet show. Anyone imagine her sitting around, singing folk songs with the entire gang. Maybe teaching Miss Piggie and the rest how to yodel? That would be a hit!! I can almost imagine the whole show and some hilarious bits that could have been done..... Think about it, those of you that remember the old show from the 70s. Before the gathering, all of the EDAs attending will participate in the filming of the first EDA video. It will not be played on EDAs (unless we submitted it to MTV Live and they played it or something, but that will be later...) but it will be treed on the list. BIG NEWS -- For those attending the EDA concert, you do not have to perform Jewel material. Since people are talking about treeing original EDA material, you can record it live at Joes. The whole concert is being put on so live material can be treed, and now that there is interest in other than the cover tape, you can record your own songs. After the concert, I"ll start taking submissions for EDA Cover Tape #2. Well, my dear angelic friends, it seems as if, during my trip to the closet to take a short writing break, i got caught up in some type of tumbleweed that i think they call "skewl", and after *that* my parents thought it would be funny to bury me neck deep into the ground for speaking truth, which of course would make it a bit hard to type on an electronic outlet such as this computer..i know these are all obsessively lame excuses for not posting to the list in over two to three, to even four months, and i apologize...i hope that i am forgiven (as we forgive those who trespass against us..)heehee..... OK, there are many things taking place at the EDA Gathering on the 4th of January at San Diego (Java Joes looks like the location...) 1) "Angel Needs A Ride" video shoot This shoot has four main characters -- a singer/driver (female), a male hitchhiker (I will play him if nobody else wants to), a female in her 20s, and another female. They will be the hitchhiking EDAs. We also need another hitchhiking male -- maybe Java Joe can play him (it needs to be someone who's not an EDA, or at least they can pretend). At the end, there will be a thousand Angels also hitchhiking. I will show the script to those attending. The main person we need to cast is the driver. She is supposed to be Jewel, but she doesn't have to look or sound like Jewel. She just has to have the same Jewelish style. A kind of person you just want to go up and hug. She is the one who sings the song and ends up being the star at the end. (The ending is hush hush so I can't tell you here). This video will be treed later on, so those who can't attend can see what we came up with. If you are attending and want to be a main character, please e-mail me and tell me so. If you will be going to the Las Vegas gathering, please consider coming to this one, too. 2) We will also eat lunch there. I think we might just all order pizzas or something. Joes sells food/drink items as well. 3) There will also be an EDA Concert. This is for two reasons -- the first is to get live material recorded for the second EDA cover tape, which I will be producing (even though I know it was Hell for Eric...). I know that I will be performing, as will DmBear978 (Alex) and BudGoddess (Angela -- it's her first gathering since getting better. YEA, ANGELA!). We had some other people interested, but it didn't work out. So, there are still spaces open... You can either sing Jewel songs or your own, if you want them recorded -- since two appropriate tapes will be treed later in 1998. There will also be open mic for those who 1) don't want to be recorded, or 2) want to sing something other than Jewel or original material. 4) A surprise skit about Jewel will also be performed. To add a little humor to the concert. This will not be recorded and only attendees will get to see it. Please, if you will be in California that weekend or think you can manage to be, please come to support the EDAs performing and also be a part of the first project of the New Year. I think everybody will have a lot of fun. And, plus, you will get to meet other EDAs. If you are interested, please tell me.
