It's on the CD-ROM itself in both WAV and aif format...so there's the answer to the mystery! :) There are also other musician's messages as well, like Silverchair. They're "real" in the sense that it's really the artists saying them, BUT I'm pretty sure they did it just for the CD, as kind of a fun type thing. Hello! Just a few things to say... 1) I wanted to ask all the EDAs that are new, or just don't know, that its better to have a message that is more than two lines long before sending it to the list. I suppose it just should be mandatory to read the new member info...please go do this if you haven't, regarding everything from questions about Jewel (including the grape lollipop and eye color) to list conduct. One of the reasons that the list went to news only was because too many people were writing very short messages with no large purpose. Not to bash anyone in particular, just letting those of you who don't know... 2) I really wanted to thank Mike (list manager) for his posts in the last day or so...one told of his discovering Jewel story and the other was a list of Jewel's poems, unreleased poems. Thank you, Mike! You reminded me of why I loved the list so much when I joined. ..posts like these were commonplace, even last spring. I wish we could get back to that. I think that everyone should really, really appreciate Mike for all the work he does....managing the list, and then going and writing awesome posts. 3) It's my birthday today....just so everyone knows. Abraham Lincoln ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 17 Nov 1997 20:44:32 From: joe Subject: IRC I've just come from the EDA channel on the undernet. I'm so disappointed... I spoke with these people there who claimed to be list veterans. These are really the people that make trouble for the list, I think.. I know there have been posts to the list about the rudeness on people on IRC before, but I can't believe this. As a veteran myself, I've never experience such rude behavior from an EDA. I'm just completely shocked, and let down. I don't know what to think. For a year and a half now, I've called myself an EDA, and I've lived everyday to be a model for other people. I've lived everyday to do something for the less fortunate. I've been such a nice guy to everyone I meet. I walk around sometimes and think "gosh, how wonderful it would be if we EDAs change the life of just one person everyday", and then this IRC thing. My ambition, my hope shattered for the evening. I'm crushed that these people I call my friends, and my fellow EDAs can be so mean and heartless. Its no wonder so many people come and go, and come and go, and come and go. I left religion behind about 3 years ago, so I could follow what I believed was true. Not what my pastor believed, not what the Bible teaches, not what my parents believe. I've been on this journey in my life to help other people, and I thought by doing that, I would find myself, and I think I have. And the JEWELry project is all about that. Its not just another thing to do! Its about love, and a feeling of acceptance, and when I'm feeling like everythink in the world is crashing down, I need something to hold onto, and the EDAs do that everyday. When I experience something like the IRC thing, I can't help but wonder how many people we've abandoned, because we were too ignorant, or set in our ways, or to rude to accept them. I know everybody out there isn't like the EDAs I ran into tonight. To those of you I did meet tonight, if you're reading this...I hope you realize that YOU are a representative of this list...Everywhere you go, and everything you do is representative of this list. How can you be EveryDay Angels in the real world, when you can't even be EveryDay Angels to me, one of your fellow EDAs? People out there, please reply, cuz I'm seriously thinking about mailing the unsub letter to majordomo. joe ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 17 Nov 1997 23:55:59 -0000 From: "Myles MacRae" Subject: Jewel on Radio 2 Jewel has just done a live set on BBC Radio 2 in the UK.
