After reading through every one of the posts on this, I've come to the conclusion that the people carrying on this arguement are like my sisters--they enjoy fighting, and think it's fun to yell at each other and chase each other back and forth across the house, and if thier having a good time, what do they care if everyone for three counties can hear it? (Before you say "kids are like that", please note that my sisters are 14 and 17 years old!) Second, I have a small problem with some of the discussions since I've joined. I get my e-mail through UMR, and this means I can only get it when the computer labs are open. Since I have class most of this time, it is sometimes a day or two before I can respond to posts. Entire discussions go on and are cut short because people complain about them, and I don't get to respond at all because it's dead by the time I read it. The recent FM thread is a good example of this--It started Friday afternoon after I got my e-mail, the computer lab was closed Saturday, and Sunday when I got my e-mail, it was dead! Third and finally, I found someone I like more than Jewel *gasp!* Her name is Hyun Mi and she thinks she's going to be a comp-sci major here at UMR, and I'm completely and totally in love with her! I checked their web page and called them, and the ACS has NOTHINGto do with this, while it is a noble idea, there is no way to track the # of forwards, and the money amount would be limitless. There is a letter on their web page explaining this. So if anyone else recieves that or similar, dont waste yours, mine, or others time by reading or forwarding it. 99.9% of all chain letters are useless, and total time waste. I've been as guilty as posting during this little war as much everyone else(post, don't post, too many, not enough, back and forth...) but today someone who I met, only once, but I met nonetheless died, and that has shaken me up on the inside like no one's business and now all that other stuff seems so unimportant. I've lost many people in my life, friends and family , but this person was an athlete who I met for only a few minutes awhile back. The basic get an autograph and a quick conversation, but he was such a nice, down to Earth person (unlike how he portrayed himself on TV) and that stuck w/me and now he's gone and that just seems so odd, I can't explain it. Life is cruel I guess. Which leads me to a simple point, Life is so very short, don't waste it on such trivial things. If you were called a name, swallow your pride and get over it. If you feel the urge to belittle someone to make yourself feel better, don't. Be a man(or woman) and just walk away or at least be civilized in voicing your displeasure.
