WOW...that was a lame subject...dont blame me, i am at school... Ok, now for the intro...my names is Jeremy, i am 18, male, in NYC, i am 5'9", blonde hair, brown/green eyes(they are NOT hazel)...i play guitar, i can sing too...i am in an alternative band. The first timei heard of the list was on Aug 31, while i was on IRC after i cam back from Jewels' show at Jones Beach...i finally got around to joining last Friday... I listen to just about any type of music, such as Live, ALice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Aerosmith, Metallica, and especially Jewel...I simply love putting on POY in the morning when i am getting ready for school... I love Jewel for all that she is...she is a great guitarist, a great song writer and has a beautiful voice... Now, my questions... 1) Does anyone have a tape of Jewel's Jones Beach show on Aug 31? 2) DOes anyone know of any upcomming NY Jewel/EDA gatherings? 3) What's this about shirts..where can i get one, etc? 4) I also heard about guitar picks...i am a guitarist...i HAVE to have at least one! If anyone can answer any/all/none of these questions, feel free to email me: sj0158@bcmail.brooklyn.cuny.edu - -Jeremy P.S. In response to the numerous requests for angelfood on the list, I decided to help out. I recently acquired a mint copy of STL, so I thought I could use my good fortune to feed some angelfood-hungry angels. If anyone would like a copy of STL, I am offering to make tapes of the CD. If you would like a copy, e-mail me privately. If you have some angelfood to trade, that would be wonderful! If not, just send me a tape with enough postage to cover shipping expenses. I will mail everyone who responds with the details once I know you're interested. Thanks! At one point she was telling a > poem, and she switched from English into Italian into Spanish into French > back into English. Man... that's talent. That would be "Praise" its on the CD, play it; play it!! I feel the very same about Kinnie Star. She is so amazingly, mind-blowingly cool its wierd. She calls what she does chunkhop, which is as good a name as any. I'm not a great fan of the X-hop genre, but she managed to help me bridge that gap. I love the drums in "Praise" on the CD as well. She also performs with Jacob Cino as her mixmaster, and her pal Loreena on violin. If they weren't there, go see her again when she comes around on her own. They all stole the show at this year's Hillside Festival (Guelph's only major musical event) [And look for my glowing though brevitous review in the October issue of CHART Magazine (in Canada)]. I love the way she switches between different genres in and through songs, from hiphop to hardcore in a few bars. I could not recommend her enough to people. Wow, just wow! I _do_ like Veda Hille a lot, though I haven't managed to see her in eons. Suzie Ungerleider (Oh Susanna!) is neat though most friends can't seem to get over the slight "countrified" aspects of her performance. I missed the SBT here (twice), but for everyone else, GO see them!
