Orrin Hatch gave it to Ted Kennedy saying that "The song ackowledges they have joined souls along the way, that they have a beautiful thing going for them." Ted Kennedy liked it a lot, and wants Jewel to sing it according to the article. I thought it couldn't get any better when two of my favorite Senators started working together, but surely two of my favorite politicians temaing up with my favorite new artist can't be topped. So, who thinks Jewel might actually do the song? Does anyone now if she has even heard about this? And, has anyone heard this song before? I wanted to give Janeene a chance to do her thing, but I have several people looking for shirts so here is the offer again. Hello, everyone once again I want to offer the "Official" EDA T-shirt to the list. The shirt first became available back in May. Now that those of you who were away for the summer are back and there are plenty of new EDA's out there, I thought I would repost the offer for everyone. I am going to be ordering more shirts this week so if you need a special size (S, XXL, or XXXL) please order ASAP as I will be ordering very limited quantities of these sizes. Talk of an EDA shirt began last summer and some how I ended up in charge. When JewelStock was announced we decided to make a shirt to commemorate that instead. Over the Winter people started bugging me to make an EDA Shirt again. So, I did, and here is the information. The shirt was designed by me and approved by Jewel and Lenedra for sale to the EDA's. The image of Jewel of the shirt comes from a picture taken by EDA Krista Dooley at Jewel's Border's Cafe appearance in Boston in May of 1996. The font used on the shirt was done by the infamous Dennis Harris. The shirt itself is royal blue and the design is in black and yellow. The design is a picture of Jewel on the front along with the words "Everyday Angels." The back reads "EDA" in large letters and below that "eda-info@smoe.org" an address which auto-responds a brief FAQ about the mailing list. Below that is the angel from the JewelStock shirt redone in black and yellow. The shirt costs $15 plus $3 shipping per order (foreign order shipping is priced on an order by order basis). Since being introduced four months ago, over 250 shirts have been purchased by EDA from around the world. The shirt can be ordered via the web at http://www.cybercom.net/~pjk/EDA. If you do not have any web access, would like a jpeg of the design, or have any other question feel free to email me at this address. I have a few things to post: One is, am I the only one who sends a post and it gets posted like 3 or 4 times? Its driving me crazy! Also, I REALLY think we should have a holiday EDA gathering in the L.A. area, I know theres tons of us around here! We could have it sometime between Thanksging and Christmas. There should also be other gatherings, with pictures taken and stuff, to be put in the yearbook. I think its a great idea! I would love to see pics of you guys and stuff, its easier to get to know people when you know what they look like! Also, for those of you interested in getting or trading angelfood with me, I now have Jewel DDDelight, Innerchange Coffehouse (2 tapes) and Jewelstock (3 tapes) as well as some tapes of compiled music I produced myself. I've told many of you this before, but if you want angelfood from me, I don't charge anything. I know how it is to really want angelfood and not have any money (especially us unemployed teenagers) But I do accept offerings ffrom those of you who juat happen to have a few bucks around. I have already put in $75 of my money (which I didnt have) to send out angelfood, but all the responses I get, the people telling me how grateful they are, is all the payment I want. So please dont feel obligated! And last but not least is a little I wanted to say because I am so excited! Tomorrow from 7-10 pm, I am preforming at this huge coffehouse in Westwood called Faces Cafe. I am SO SCARED!! 4 hours of playing music. . .just me and my guitar up there in front of all those people! Yikes! I am gong to play a few of the songs I wrote myself, and some Sara and Tori Amos songs. I am planning on 20 Jewel songs, if not more, including WWSYS, YWMFW, Sometimes it be that way, Gods Gift to Women, Fading, and Flower. Whew! So please guys, say a little prayer for me, I need it! Anyway, sorry its so long, not like we've had an overflow of posts lately though! I love you guys and feel free to e mail me (or IM me if you're on aol) anytime, I love meeting new people! Also if you're a new angel and you have any questions, I would love to help you out as best as I can! I am new to the EDAs and I think it is a great thing, from what I have seen thus far. So, I'll introduce myself. My name is Jim, I'm 17 and from the Reading, Pennsylvania area. I have been an avid fan of Jewel since I saw her WWSYS video the day it premiered on MTV. I have been looking all over the place for songs by Jewel not on her albums, and I think I have definitely stumbled upon the right place. I picked the nickname "Angel Under Water" (I hope no one else has it. If they do, let me know and I'll change it) because one of my favorite songs by her is "Under the Water". I love other rock bands as well as most of the Lilith's, so I am pretty well rounded in the music department. I haven't yet seen Jewel in concert, as I have been out of town EVERY time she has come to the Philadelphia area. I saw posted here a few times that there are "official" EDA t-shirts, and I don't know how this works, but I am a senior in High School here in PA, and I have a class in the spring called Graphic Reproduction where we create original T-Shirts, and if there is any special person in charge of T-shirts, it would be awesome if I could talk to them, because I can design really awesome shirts and print them up at stock cost (which usually runs about $5). So, I'm here to help out, collect some more music of Jewel, maybe meet a few other angels, and just have a good 'ol time!
