Just wanted to remind you that the 'Scrappy Bitch Tour', featuring three great Canadian female performers, will be at the Mercury Lounge in New York tonight (Monday), and at the Iron Horse in Northampton on Tuesday night. The three artists are Veda Hille, Kinnie Starr and Oh Susanna. I saw them here in Montreal last week, and enjoyed their concert immensely. I also heard from other EDA's and friends in Toronto and Ottawa who were equally impressed. I highly recommend this show as an enriching and eclectic music experience. I've told Oh Susanna about the Jewel list, so if you get to the show, say hi for me and let her know that you're on the list (although I don't think I ever told her about the term 'EDA'). She's heard about the Living Room Tours, and is interested in participating one day. I'd be very eager to hear what any of you think of her, and the show. Have a good evening, angels. With the CD having been delayed a number of times already, it's already been officially announced by Jewel (and later by Bibi in a talk we had) that it won't be out until the July/August 1998 time frame. MrBB might know more about Jewel's schedule for recording again, as *apparently* most, if not all of the stuff Jewel recorded in Bearsville in June/July 1996 has been scrapped (at least as far as being included on the next CD), mostly due to all the new stuff she'd written since the Bearsville sessions. The "plan" is for a mid 98 release of the next album still tentatively titled "Fritz Creek Store". She hasn't any recording sessions planned until late Feb & March of 98. Certainly sessions may happen before then but nothing is scheduled yet. She definately has a huge quantity of material written since Bearsville 96. I doubt everything from the Bearsville sessions will be scrapped, though. Carnivore, Satellite & Jessica are very likely candidates to survive the final cut for track lineup. Amazing versions of these were recorded in Bearsville. Still, it all depends on what becomes of all this "new" material & all the material she'll undoubtably write between now & then.... On the brighter side, Jewel contributed vocals on several collaboration songs recorded for Steve Poltz's new solo album. They recorded at Ocean Way Studios in Los Angeles a few days prior to the recent tour beginning. Some incredible new (& old) material was recorded. That album will surface in the next few months on the Mercury label. There'll also be Jewel's "You Make Lovin Fun" track on an upcoming Fleetwood Mac tribute CD as well as a "yet to be named" track recorded for another upcoming Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute CD. There won't be a lack of new released Jewel material between now & the 2nd CD. :-) Best wishes! By 4pm today (Monday) I had over 600 list emails TO Juno accounts that bounced (returned) back to smoe.org (and ultimately to me). In other words, all of the Juno folks whose email were returned to me didn't get those emails. I have no idea how many of the Juno subscribers to this list were affected, but my guess is a vast majority, if not all. (Afterall, I had over 600 emails returned) I had even replied to Kim privately this morning about her question, but THAT email also bounced, telling me either Juno was temporarily up at the time she sent her email, or that Juno accounts (during this problem) could send emails but not receive them. Since I have received no more bounces since about 4pm EST, I am going to assume this is over.
