First is cost- its a double album, so its expensive, one place had it for 15 and another one for 17 bucks, so figure 16, plus tax and postage- about 19 total i guess. the people that emailed me asking about it i will write back soon- (busy weekend) and try to let you know early next week how many copies i can get and you can send me a check, but i will let you know specifically if you have a copy so i dont have to return any checks. For those of you younger angels who might not have that kind of money, you can get the extra songs on other EDA tapes or probably have someone tape the last side of the 2nd record for you. (ask around or check the list- there are a lot of generous tape makers) Second, (shorter) are people camping in san diego friday, sat,? is there common place, statepark or anything? How much does it cost? But your comment about not wanting to date "scum like me" doesn't really make sense. If there is one thing that I have learned while listening to Jewel's music, it is to not judge somebody based on their physical appearance or how much money they have. My point being, unless you are genuinely a bad person at heart, Jewel is not going to consider you scum. She believes (this is taken from something I've read, I'm not putting words into her mouth) that people are [generally speaking] good at heart. However, I'd still say you have little or no chance of dating Jewel. That's like picking one name of 5 billion and somehow end up dating that very person.. the chances of that happening are very slim. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 19 Sep 1997 10:36:22 -0700 From: Gerrit Kruidhof Subject: Lyrics to Kiss Your Ass Scott A Michau wrote: > > Does anyone else love the lyrics to the Jewel song, "Kiss My Ass" ? The tour is composed of three Vancouver-based women, including Oh Susanna= , an artist I've spoken to many EDA's about. I saw this woman in May, and was= more impressed by her live performance than any =91unknown=92 singer I=92ve se= en since I first saw Jewel a couple of years ago. Dark lyrics, but a very charismati= c performer. And, she=92s a very nice, approachable, extremely bright and= articulate woman as well. She sings in a style reminiscent of 1930's dus= tbowl folk and Appalachian ballads, a bit like a better known American singer Gillian Welch. The other two performers on the tour are Kinnie Starr and Veda Hille. Ki= nnie was one of the opening artists during the first week of the Lilith Tour, = and is a more avant garde performer. She integrates spoken word performance a= nd elements as diverse as hip hop into her music. Veda is the headlining ac= t of the tour, and is a wonderful composer and singer with several cd's to her= credit. The tour started last week and plays almost exclusively in Canada, but th= ere are two stops in the U.S. The Mercury Lounge in New York on Sept. 29, an= d the-familiar-to-many-of-you Iron Horse in Northhampton on Sept. 30. I'm sure these shows will be very worthwhile experiences. I encourage any= one who has the opportunity to catch this tour to do so, and if you do, pleas= e say hello to Oh Susanna from me if you get the chance.
