I will add a lot of stuff on that date. If any of you have any ideas as to new things I could add, I would be really grateful and I'm sure other Jewel fans would too. I am looking for articles, tabs, concert reviews, and anything else that has to do with Jewel. Also any poems, stories, or art that you, Jewel fans, have created is welcome for the fans page. If you have a Jewel website, and would like a link, please send me the url and I will gladly add it in my links page; banners are also accepted. A service that notifies changes to the site will also be available. The feature will be functional Monday morning. I am also in the process of making a text based version of the page for people with text only browsers. As I said before, any ideas for improvement are welcome and all will be considered. You will be credited for all material you submit. Thank you all for helping me make a web site worthy of having Jewel's name on it. Later. Four EDA's (Myself, Whitney, Tina and Savannah) sat down for a meal at TGIFridays and talked about things both fun and, er, frightening. I learned one thing, above all else, that night: That the wisdom of the ages comes from the youth of the world. This land that we live in will soon be run by those we consider children. If Whitney and Savannah are representative of those who shall inherit the Earth, I feel we may be in better hands than those that have held the future before. Another Nashvegas EDA is in the works. The date is set tentatively for Saturday, August 9. Any and all EDA's are invited and encouraged to attend. I ask that any and all who are interested please e-mail me ASAP. We are hoping for a larger gathering this time, so we can explore the diversity that is the EveryDay Angels. We also request that you bring along at least one person who isn't a member of the Jewel-list, but is an EDA in their own right. After all, who said that every Angel has a computer? And what can you really say but that it was such an awesome experience that anyone who missed should make a point oof seeing it wherever they can. The day was supposed to start with Paula Cole on the Village stage, but she was very sick and did not perform. So Tara MacLean performed five songs which included Silence and Let Her See the Rain. After her set, she went over to Borders (the music sales tent where they were selling cd's of all the artists and she was signing them) and I got the chance to talk to her for a few minutes. I told her she had a great set and how we had been talking about her on this list and she was all flattered. She was happy to meet an EDA and she was really grateful for all the support we had been giving her. So we are doing something right in this oh so crazy world we live in. Then Autuer De Lucie played and I thought they were good, but didn't know what the hell they were saying because they sung in French. Oh well. C'est La Vie. Then Victoria Williams came on and I was right up front for her set and was pleasantly surprised with how good she was. She played a few songs and had so much fun she went over the 20 minutes she was alotted. Then she came down to the front of the stage and signed autographs and talked with fans and she was very cool. Then The Cardigans played which I missed because being I was up front for Victoria, I didn't want to move for when Juliana Hatfield came on. The Cardigans sounded okay. Then Juliana came on and kicked everyone's ass with a solid set of new and old songs. One of the highlights being my favorite Sister. Then it was off to the main stage for the rest of the evening which kicked off with Fiona Apple. And I must say that youngin has got feeling and fire in her. She played an amazing set which started off with Shadowboxer and contained all of her hits. She even did a cover of Jimi Hendrix's Angel which would even make the biggest Hendrix fan stand up and cheer. After her was Joan Osbourne who was the greatest surprise of the night. She played a whole bunch of new songs that sounded really good. She opened with Right Hand Man and closed with an amazing version of One of Us. The highlight though was when a fan shouted out St. Theresa and she sang it a capella as they were getting ready for One Of Us. Then was Tracy Chapman and what can you say but she is back and here to stay. Her set was really the most touching and heart-felt out of all of them. She did a whole bunch of stuff including the still crowd-friendly Fast Car. Then, it was Sarah McLauchlan's turn and she was very impressive. Although her songs are deep and cathartic, she was very moving and touching. The time had come to go home. On the aside, I am thinking of travelling to Pennsylvania to see our lady at the Lilith Fair there. If anyone would like to get together and plan the road trip from NY to there and wants to come, let me know privately. The lineup for those shows are. Shawn Colvin, Jewel, Indigo Girls, Sheryl Crow, and Sarah. Anyway peace and love to you all, Kevin ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 26 Jul 1997 13:58:32 -0400 (EDT) From: GroovyLime@aol.com Subject: ¤¤Nj©:::TMC::†ara MacLean Experience-ßorders Westbur’, £ I hey folks,=20 well, i must admit that this fine day was an experience and a half,so im = just gonna give you a recap of my day (if you dont care, delete now)so to star= t off, it took me like 1=BD hrs to finally drag my butt outta bed, and caug= ht the ferry to get to nyc to get to the stock exchange which is wher russ works= , but i realized that a good friend of mine worked a block from the exchang= e, so i paid lisa a visit(the one who has had my poy cd fer 7 months as of yesterday ::sigh:: luckily i taped it a while ago, so i dont really mind, always willing to share some good music=3D)) anyjow, i found russ coming = out of work with a suit on! awright! cool! russ in a suit! ok, and we took the 4 train to the LIRR and russ surprised me with this $6.25 fare! being i had= 9 dollars....damn thats expensive! but a comfy train indeed:) anyjow, we g= ot to russes, and he shows me how to swing a golf club.....russ will kick al= l your butts in golf! im tellin you!....anyhow, its about 6 and time to get= to borders!!! allright, were ready, just slipped on my kicks and got outside with the reminiscant sound of CICADAS in front of his house, that was wie= rd, so we got there, hung out with the 6-7 person audience, and then comes kelly!!=20 {(({{({(({(({(({({{({(({({{{{((({(({(KELLY}})})})})})})})})}})}))}))})}}}= )})}) }}})}))})}}))} kelly really needed a hug, im here for ya kell! then like 5 minutes later theres Tara MacLean!! and she had recognised me from nashville, and russ from all the times hed seen er, we talked fer like 5 minutes before the s= how, introed her to kelly, and the show started, and i started taping! great c= opy too!=20 the show was awesome and Bill Bell was her cohort playing backround elect= ric geetar, 'Daaaamm!!
