Besides, it even said on pop-up videos that the coming out of the dress symbolized shedding her skin & growing out of an old relatioship... And I don't think she "uses" her beauty to sell singles, shrug, she can't help the fact that she's beautiful and that people see it... the only way to get past that is to wear a paper bag on her head and a trenchcoat instead of showing her body... Wouldn't you all agree that the YWMFM video is very sensual and not so much sexual? That might explain why some think nothing of the content, while others find it excessive. I didn't find the video SEXUAL at all. She wasn't making orgasmic faces or suggestive poses. She wasn't wearing any sort of ridiculous comic book get up. Yes at times it seemed that she longed for the other person in the song and isn't that the whole point of the song? That want and NEED of someone dearly loved after they've been lost to you. I thought it was expressed well. Let's all take a deep breathe and admit the following to ourselves. Jewel has had sex before, and she'll do it again. Bartholomew) Subject: BEARSVILLE 97 SUCKED!!! well, leaving did... :) honestly, these things are better remebered by those who attended, and not agonized over by those who could not. so i'll try to keep the torture to a minimum. first and fore most (is that all one word?), i must express extreme gratitude towards bond, lauren bond, and her mother (well, it was her tent). without her, i wouldn't have had the pleasure of my particular sleeping arrangements ;) [it was a blow job, alright?!?] and albert certainly made the trip to and fro much easier and enjoyable. jeez, i'm thinkin' roadtrip during the lr tour...how 'bout you? can't pass up another cool eda gatherin' within 8 hrs. driving distance now, can you? i'm thinkin' campbell's would be a cool place to hang for a day or two. especially since we'd get to hang with lauren bond again (did i mention that i'm going to marry her someday?). hee hee. meeting all of the eda's i had previously only typed at was an absolutely amazing experience. it's immesurable how much i feel that this past weekend has changed my views and feelings towards this list. although it does seem as though there are two halves now [not a bad thing], i feel as though i am closer and more familiar with what each of you is saying and trying to get across when you post now [definitely a good thing]...at least, those who i met. knowing who it's coming from and what they're really like, ...i just have a hard time expressing myself about this. that would pretty much follow the trend of my life though. being an aries, it's hard to express any sort of emotion for me. especially goodbye's. leaving that campsite was by far one of the downers of the weekend. sitting at that creek [crick ~eh, albert?] when i first got there was definitely nice. certainly very solitude as dennis described to me...and then proceded to assault me and my manhood with those damn wet balls of his. [damn those harris brothers!] but sitting there before leaving was even more introspective. rehashing all of the past 24 hours was nearly enough to bring tears to my eyes (but it didn't). "fiddler's green" (tragically hip) kept running (for a "long time" -heh, heh) through my mind for no apparent reason. simply beautiful. i didn't want to leave. then there was the diner diner diner goodbyes. i suck at sh!t like that. i just can't say anything thoughtful. to all who were there, leaving wasn't as easy as i made it out to be. i'm sorry. this just means that i'll have to show up at the next gathering to harrass you all some more. but on a happier note, there were the meetings of new folks! steph is certainly one of the highlights of the bunch. how could you miss this bundle of hug? her poetry has inspired me to do something i've never done before. although, i'm going to do it later... anyway, this is one person i'll never forget. i hope you have a safe trip and happy existance on the west coast. you certainly deserve it. and the love beads are still around my neck...and will be at every eda adventure. it's definitely a steph-thing. man, i don't know where to start with everyone i met. proven, with his little comments; eric, with his non-stop energy; laura, cindy-lee's little sister for sure...you'll all soon see what i'm talking about; joshua, who's anxiousness to do stuff is unparalleled; and steve, the hippie angel if there ever was one. the football, frisbee, group pic were all so cool [thanks for holding my head dennis...hmm maybe he is good for something afterall]. actually, i think dennis was a camp counsellor in a past life. without him, half the stuff we did wouldn't have gotten done. thanks dennis. and who can forget the efforts of mike, crunch, and clan campbell? thank you's all around to a terrific group of people. mykle was also a terrific person to meet. eloquent conversation and kindness unmatched by all but a few souls roaming the earth under the stars and ~0's. [that's supposed to be "comet's"...sorry] i know that i'm leaving out many of the others, but i'm sure 1300 people don't want to read all about how my life was changed in one day. in fact, i'll finish this up some other time, i have to run to the morgue to pick some stuff up (that's a job thing). in no way have i said all i want to say. and i'll be writting many of you personally soon. bill b ps: maybe not soon, but i will. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 23 Jul 1997 09:36:47 -0600 (MDT) From: Chopped Liver Subject: SJC: Jewel has the lead in a movie? The US magazine article, unless I am horribly mistaken, said something like this: Jewel played Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz which led to her first lead in a movie. Am I missing something here? Charlie... why would we hate you for such things? I would luike to tell you you are not alone, and no one can control what their heart feels. I too was, and may still be slightly in love with her. I mean, after meeting her, I could not see a picture, or her videos without thinking about her, and how much I hated myself for not going back to see her, for not seeing if maybe there had been a chemistry between us that would re-emerge when we met again... You cannot control how you feel... when someone affects you the way she does, your heart does what it feels most natural doing. We cannot blame you for that. I used to go to bed thinking of her and wake up in near cold sweats because I was so miserable... but eventually I got most of my town into Jewel. They borrow the cd, and then bought it themselves, then they loaned it out to friends, and then they bought it... and that made me happy... sharing the beauty that is Jewel... but more than that... sharing the words. In depth, it is her words which most affect people... because so many (who must live in closets) have never seen her at all, but are still so heavily affected by her. Then I met the women I will marry.. and I am happy. Yes, I still think about the what ifs, and i am constantly reminded by my friend Steve that I could have maybe had something special with Jewel... but in my I do. I met her, we talked, we seemed like friends. But every EDA has something special with Jewel... their connection to her, their love for her, and their deep devotion to her. I do have one question... in refering to my note, you mentioned being humbled... how so?
