I've yet to recieve a negative comment, for which I'm grateful. And even more grateful am I for all the encouraging words I've recieved. It's been some work, not nearly as much as other projects (like any of the undertakings by Mike "The Tape Nazi" Connell), but I'd certainly have a lot more free time if I weren't doing it. That being, it's been nothing but a pleasure for me, and I'd hate to see it discontinued. Well you've probably sussed what I'm leading to by now, so I won't string out the meladrama any longer. I'm asking for anyone who would like to continue the EDA Birthday Announcements in my place. The only requirement is that you be willing to carry on the task of collecting, organizing, and presenting the birthday announcements for the enjoyment of the list. That and you must present a doctor's certificate of certifiable mental illness. No, just kidding (About being certifiable). There's nothing difficult to it, though I'd recommend a good mail reader, something that can automatically file incoming messages (like Pegasus or Claris). I really don't recommend AOL users as their mail tends to get flaky at times. But whatever the case, just mail me if you're interested, the technical details can be worked out later. Of course it's sophmoric and juvenile, and unless you like that kind of Monty Python meets Rob Reiner type humor, you may find it really, really stupid. I never fail to find something to laugh about when I watch that movie... and it takes about three or four times through it before you catch all the jokes :) P.S. David St. Hubbins is 'Lenny' (of Lenny and Squiggy from the old sit-com Laverne & Shirley) with a fake british accent... I was just at a meeting where we discussed a certain service project...and I got to thinking...this is really a great thing for the EDAF...It's Habitat For Humanity. I'm sure you've heard of this non-profit program which builds houses for the poor and homeless. It's a beautiful cause and they have groups all around the world working with them. In fact, people travel around the world building these houses and shelters and hospitals and other facilities for those less fortunate. I would love to see the EDAs do this either locally or as a huge EDAF project. Have a nice day =) Naveen P.S. And to those who have been sending messages to Adrian such as: > "You do NOT represent the EDAF and have NO RIGHT to do what >you have been posting to the list as the EDAF or a representative." I think this is shameful. How can you possibly send a flame like this to someone who has been working tirelessly to update list members on a very pertinent issue. I remind you that the EDAF will have many members from this list...and I for one am glad Adrian has brought up the topic again. He may not "represent the EDAF", but neither do you, mister, and YOU have NO RIGHT to say something like this to someone who works so hard. I think it's very ironic that you have joined a community of "Every Day Angels" and then sent Adrian such a ridiculous flame. I don't know who you are or what you were thinking when you wrote that, but for you, all "Have a Nice Day" priveleges are hereby revoked. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 1 Jul 1997 08:08:07 -0600 (MDT) From: Chopped Liver Subject: Re: jewel's guitar, songs, spinal tap (where's big blue) On Tue, 1 Jul 1997 Sloppyjoe2@aol.com wrote: > jewel uses a Farrington i believe > secondly, please dont misuse apostrophes, "loves" doesnt need one > please learn your own language I' havent see'n t'he bl'ue Fa'rring'ton 'in a' l'ong tim'e''.
