Jewel's music is split into 4 basic categories. >The Social Criticism Category : WWSYS, PoY, Satellite, Daddy, etc. This category is why I think Jewel is so often compared to Bob Dylan since he did the same sort of thing in his music. >The Innocence/ Pure Category : Near You Always, Swedish Song, Cold Song, Fish Family, Amen (maybe?). >The Making Fun of Stupid Men Category : Race Car Driver, My Own Private God's Gift to Women. >The Serious Category : (Note this is a really broad category because it deals with serious love songs as well as serious topics) Fragile Flame, Memoirs of a Housewife, Nikos, Angel Standing By, 1000 Miles Away, Angel Needs a Ride, etc. Well, what do you all think. I realize that most of Jewel's songs overlap between categories, but oh well. Comments, additions, revisions? New thread possibility or not? In regards to a question posted earlier, yes I'm still running the EDA pick project. We hit a few minor bumps on the way to ordering them, but we quickly got things back in order. The picks are ordered and will be back around the first week of June. They are light blue in color, medium in size with "We are EveryDay Angels" on one side and Dennis Harris' EDA angel on the other (black print). You can view the pick yourself at http://www.theartof.com/pickidea.jpeg our pick is the one at the bottom (with the halo around the 'W' in WE), only in light blue. Originally it was planned as a birthday present, but unfortunately that couldn't work out. Now, they are going to be a sorta "Welcome Back" present and Alan is going to handle giving them to her. When the picks arrive, I will post the list again with complete instructions on how to order them for yourselves. So, I will be talking to you all in about a month!! Anyway, I got this thing called the Wilson Honors Scholarship Prize. I thought it was given out to a whole bunch of people and I was just one of them. I didn't even know what it was for or how I got chosen for it. Anyway, so I get there and look on the program, and I'm the only person to get it!!!!! I even asked them and they didn't know. I don't even have a 4.0. And as part of it I got a hundred dollar gift certificate to Barnes and Nobles. Guess where I'm going right now? Well, actually right after Friends. Afterward I ran into my Milton professor (he is SO cute) but I couldn't find my favorite professor. I'm aware that you may have many tapes to make and I want to tell you before I even send this tape that I am by nature a very patient and understanding person and will not be expecting a prompt return - I believe you will produce these dubs at whatever pace you are able to and will be happy to wait until my copy shows up in the mail one day soon enough. Contrary to popular belief, two humans, when placed in the exact same situation, *CAN* behave in similiar, or even almost identical ways. Kinda like the way people behave when riding a roller coaster at Six Flags. ;) It is all a part of being people. There's no point reading any more into it than that. :) Like the feeling you get when you're really thirsty on a hot day and drink a glass of ice cold water, the variety of responses you're gonna get are just what they are going to be. ^_^ Albert Wang Dark Seraph bahamude@user1.channel1.com Jewel Quotes and QTs http://hugse1.harvard.edu/~wangal/jewel.html ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 09 May 1997 00:49:54 EDT From: prince-valium@juno.com (andrew t harding) Subject: Re: jewel-digest V2 #343 sorry but i heard a rumor ,that she had done nude photos, from a friend of mine ,and was quite disturbed,i didnt think she had but i had to put my worries to rest.
