Keep sending your email telling me how many chances to put in with your name. Then send a check equal to $1 per chance. 100% of the money goes to the James Paul Kalanick Trust. DO NOT MAKE THE CHECKS OUT TO ME! Everyone that sends me email will get a confirmation. I am very slow because each response is a personal one and not a form letter. So bear with my snail pace. Because of the short time we had, I asked that the checks be sent to me. It would be impossible to have the bank give me a list of checks to match the email committments. Once we get the final version completed I will be = sending copies to all of those who are to be attending all the Europe = concerts and others like Lilith Fair and Rockfest. Maybe we can get it = to her. Of course all priority email addresses will get a copy too, but = that is another story. Okay, so here it is, update #3 of the FG video. For a detailed list of = changes, please refer to "FG VIDEO UPDATE #3.5" If it cannot be located, = I can re-post it. Video : Starring Ms. Jewel Kilcher, Male Companion possibly Steve Poltz = again. Time : Night Time Weather : Rainstorm, Lightning, Thunder, Crashing Seas Setting : Cottage on Beach of Cape Cod Massachusetts, or similar = setting. The cottage has a dirt driveway and a widow's watch. For those who are = unfamiliar with Cape Style beach houses, a widow's watch is a deck = normally on a high level of the house. Fishermen's wives use to pace on = them to watch for their husband's ships to come in to port or never show = up at that matter. ************BEGIN VIDEO SCRIPT*********** Jewel is walking up a set of stairs, fingernails dragging lightly on the = banister. She stops, pears out of an octagon window to see a scene split = into eight of an old beat up Ford (c) truck rolling up the driveway. = She continues up the stairs, no lights are on, only moonlight and = lightning fill the black & white video. Sitting atop a widow's watch she looks on. A man steps out of the truck. = Denim jacket, beat up jeans, a slight stubble of a beard and hair like = he just woke up adorn the person. Jewel wrapped up in a black shawl like = the woman on the "Dove (c)" bottles does not allude to her being there. = The man throws his coat over his shoulder, slowly walking to the front = door on the porch. Looking as if there is no strength left in him he = slowly knocks on the door, trying to peer in the window. His head falls down staring at the welcome may. Flash back occurs of = Jewel bitching him out, fades back to welcome may. The disillusioned man = sees in his mind the welcome mat morph to "Not Welcome." Stumbling down = the three stairs he tosses his coat onto the muddied driveway. Kneels = before it, not on it, and buries his head in his hand on it. Jewel, still looking on is now flipping through a picture album that up = until now has been in her lap. The pictures are the only thing that = appear in color. The pictures depict miscellaneous people, including = many photos of her and her counterpart. A multitude of scenes are to = follow. Flashback: Jewel and the man are having a picnic on the beach = near the house at sunset, a black Labrador retriever playfully runs = through them as they were attempting to hook wrists with wine flutes = (sp?). Flashback: Going along with the lyrics "You're so brilliant in = the morning, etc...." Jewel and counterpart are now sitting on the porch = on a porch swing one bright Sunday morning. Light mist still covers the = ocean. Jewel in a very New England looking sweatshirt (baggy, hooded, = and front of collar torn about 3 inches down (This is NOT a "Lets see = some flesh thing", I mean like torn down to where the two collar bones = meet!) and comfortable fitting torn up jeans is plucking aimlessly at = her guitar with one leg dangling down like dead-weight. She is staring = with the look of love in her eyes towards the man. The guy is topless = and in sweatpants, drinking his coffee. The camera follows his movement = as he brings a cigarette to his lips, zoomed in on his smoky.=20 A fade to the same man in the driveway. His cigarette falls and splashes = to the puddle under him into the driveway. Jewel's scenes of romance and = fun have now faded. A flashback scene of about twenty-five to thirty = seconds of them fighting ending with her throwing him out (maybe = slapping him) occurs. She runs to the phone through the living room. Who = she calls on the other end is a mystery, but a sole tear runs down her = cheek. She moves to the front door, slowly opening it. He hears the dull squeak = of the hinge. Turning around still on his knees, he opens his arms = begging for her forgiveness. All you see is his mouth obviously = stumbling, trying to utter out words of apology. He moves to the front = porch, around three feet away form Jewel he stops. He again opens his = arms and she slowly pushes them down away from her, a look of lost love = in her face. She raises her arm in front of her, turns her arm over and = opens her palm. Revealing a dime which she forces him to take. A camera = shot of a zoom in of the dime (Head Side) that is clear, which the focus = changes to see his confused face of awe behind it. (The significance is = this, the dime says "Call someone who cares honey, you've hurt me to = badly this time!") The man slowly steps down the porch stairs, head hung low. Slowly he = walk back to the beat up Ford (c). Camera moves to Jewel's back, who is = now looking out of a second story window at him. Her hand is pressed = against the glass, fingers spread open. Lightning still flashes every so = often. They guy kicks the mud, throw's the dirtied jacket into the = truck, punches the fender, grabbing his fist in pain. He gets in, arms = crossed over the steering wheel, bead buried into his arms.=20 Her hand clenches ever so slowly into the sign language symbol for "I = love you." Jewel traces a lone raindrop on the window from top to = bottom of the window pane, still longing for more, but realizes = everything must end. The camera pans around to her face, still holding a = saddened look. More tears are rolling down her cheeks, not balling, but = continuous. The camera zooms in on her right eye, but the weird part is = that her iris is in color, the color of Jewel's marvelously Emerald = eyes, the rest is ALL b & w . A single tear swells up and rolls slowly = down, with lightning softly flashing the scene fades to black.... ***********END VIDEO SCRIPT*********** Okay, that's the script so far.. how is it?? I've had the POY songbook (no piano) for about a month now, and am learning Amen first. I noticed a lot of the songs are dropped Db tuning, and other variations. God has NOT given us the right to decide who lives and dies (NO EXCEPTIONS). Yes, people do it, but it is against God's will. One of the Ten Commandments DOES state "Thou shalt not kill" God wrote that for good reasons and I take it seriously! And as you mentioned before: "we cannot rely on God for everything" that is true. God does want people to help themselves. a phrase that I heard that is very true: "God helps those who help themselves," but doing something against God's will is a totally different thing. Even if you THINK it will help someone if you do something against God's will, it is wrong. God has good reason's for establishing rules and regulations, and by breaking them, we may actually hurt someone though we may think it will help. My whole point is TRUST GOD. He knows what he's doing, he has (very good) reasons for everything! He is our creator and he can destroy us just as easily as he created us, but he won't destroy us unless there's a reason, just like he doesn't create someone unless there is a good reason. One more thing, how do we know it doesn't hurt the babies during abortion? No baby during abortion ever said "this doesn't hurt." Thanks for calling..I hope that I can catch up with you soon:-) Je t'aime The wind whistled this morning across the strings of my heart I heard it coming Watching it graceful, quiet It caressed my hair the tresses of blonde color It crossed my fingers I opened my hand in welcome Capturing it's wild spirit Grasping the life it shares I breathe in the sweet smells We crossed the bridge and down across the meadow In the dew, we stood for some time He took my hand in his He pressed his lips against mine Magic happened! The morning was peaceful, serene I cherished each whisper, each note The voice of nature ringing in my ears I heard the voice of heaven today My angels were surronding me Amongst a cloud of happiness I had the most wonderful day today. Thanks for listening to the extraneous thoughts in my head. I hope my angels have a peachy weekend and I wish for you all to catch the wind and dream.... Your friend and EDA, Laura ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 1 May 1997 22:34:13 -0400 (EDT) From: CornflkGl@aol.com Subject: Patty Griffin and The Rugburns in Northampton, MA Hi again, guys :) . I posted the other day about Patty Griffin coming to the Iron Horse in Northampton, MA on May 21st. Lo and behold, I check my mail and see... The Rugburns are coming to the very same venue !!! This is a sign.. or something. The Rugburns will be here on June 6th ( a friday night ) . I'll be going to BOTH these shows. I don't know how normal people get tickets ( we buy them at a record store here ) , BUT if you're a person I know and can trust ( Dennis, this very rarely means you ) I'll get you tickets and you can reimburse me for either shows. Like I said earlier, The Iron Horse is a great little restaraunt/concert hall. All tickets are Gen. Admission, and to get good seats you have to come when they open the doors and serve dinner, but I think we can all manage that :) I saw Eleanor McEvoy there last year, and Jewel played there a LONG time ago. Whether you can get your own tickets or not, I'd love to know who's going. I can provide directions, hotel locations ( if needed ), and a great place to go hang out after the show :) . At Jewelstock, Friday night show (July 19) during the thrid encore, after Grey Matter and before 1000 Miles Away Jewel cracks a joke about the Harris bros. Who's the guy who's laughing so hard at this point -- I'm just wondering coz I'm listening to it right now and every time I hear it -- it cracks me up. Whoever it is was having the best of times laughing. I know that if you request Free Bird, the joke is that Jewel will flip you off. But what is Free Bird? It's not the Lynrd Skynrd song is it? ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 1 May 1997 02:06:03 -0700 From: howenow@imagen.net (Adrian Duplessis) Subject: Jewel a "surprise" guest at Montreux Jazz Festival? I just revisited the Montreux Jazz fest website to see if there's any word of Jewel joining singing legend Charles Aznavour as had been speculated on this list a month or so ago... There's a listing for Charles Aznavour on Saturday 12 July at 20 h. 30. The performance is billed as: Carte Blanche à Charles Aznavour "Mes 50 ans de Chansons" Charles Aznavour Patti Austin, Jonathan Buttler, Mino Cinelu George Duke, Rachelle Ferrell, Madeleine Peyroux, Lambert Wilson & Surprise Guests I wonder if Jewel is a surprise guest. BTW, Sheryl Crow is performing at the Montreux Jazz festival on July 10. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 1 May 97 21:45:01 -0800 From: John Kaminar Subject: Re: EDA Birthday Announcements for May >5/7 - Jimmy >5/10 - Rick Bond hey, stick me in there between these two... 5/9! yay! - -john - -------------------------------------------------------------------- visit my pages, dedicated to scribbles, scratches and vibrations, and those individuals responsible for the most beautiful of them: http://www2.mousehouse.com/rejoyce/riverrun.html ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 1 May 1997 22:41:23 -0600 From: ehicks@flash.net Subject: Rolling Stone article/ other stuff Ok, well I was locked out of my house for about 2 hours today (yes I am stupid) so I decided to go and get the rolling stone. The pictures are mostly really bad if you ask me. I just don't get what's up with that yellow eye shadow! Anyway, onto the actual article. I liked parts of it, but most of wasn't that great. I think the reason for this is because Jancee Dunn spent a little too much time trying to play a psychologist and analyze everything about Jewel, when she really isn't smart enough to figure the woman out! She read too deeply into some things, and not deeply enough into others. She's a classic example of one of those people who think they know everything but are totally clueless. She may not be like this all the time, but I think she was w/ this article. Parts of it were still good though, I mean, it's not a total piece of crap or anything! ;) Guess what? The Rugburns are coming to Santa Fe (New Mexico) on the 6th, and since I didn't know about it enough ahead of time, I can't go! Granted, I've never even heard any of their music, but that's because I haven't been able to find it anywhere! So I really wanted to see them live. *sigh* That brings me to another point... A lot of newbies have come in over the last few months, so I wanted to ask again if there are any of you from NEW MEXICO out there?????? There are only 3 others that I've talked to that are from NM, so if there are any more of you out there, speak up! Sorry if this was kind of long... *hugs* Emily ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 1 May 97 21:49:12 -0800 From: John Kaminar Subject: Re: Has anyone noticed? >James Kalanick >Jewel Kilcher > >JK and JK I'm feeling a little superstitious now... my initials are JPK. hmm, I guess I'll be donating! - -john - -------------------------------------------------------------------- visit my pages, dedicated to scribbles, scratches and vibrations, and those individuals responsible for the most beautiful of them: http://www2.mousehouse.com/rejoyce/riverrun.html ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V2 #325 ***************************
