I think that person was just saying that we all try to be like him. You know...follow his examples, make good examples. I think Jewel is making a good example as to how to not give up on your dreams, and to keep purging away at it until you reach it. I think you might have taken it the wrong way. I was watching the show at someone else's house where there were younger kids (from 7-10) and they started cheering like crazy when Rosie announced that Jewel was next. Jeez..I thought I'd be the only one cheering like heck, but when I opened my mouth to say "Yes!" when they announced her name, the little kids beat me to it! And to have Jewel say "Follow your dreams." is great for little kids that like her to hear. =) Mark - --- I'm sorry that Jesus died for my sins, and I swear to God it won't happen again - --Jewel "Sometimes It Be That Way" ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 22 Apr 1997 22:08:08 -0600 (MDT) From: Chopped Liver Subject: NJC: Late Night Musical Guests Daves' Guests Wednesday, April 23 music group Wilco Thursday, April 24 music group The Verve Pipe Friday, April 25 singer John Hiatt Monday, April 28 singer Paula Cole Tuesday, April 29 singer Tanya Tucker Wednesday, April 30 music group Indigo Girls Jay's Guests Thursday, April 24 LeAnn Rimes Friday, April 25 Tina Turner Late Night with Conan O'Brien Tuesday, April 22: Musical guest Fiona Apple Thursday, April 24: Musical guest Radish Tuesday, April 29: Musical guest Deana Carter Chopped Liver (Charlie) watkins@selway.umt.edu Share publicly, flame privately, " 'Cause anyone can start a conflict it's harder yet to disregard it ". ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 22 Apr 1997 21:07:10 -0700 From: Casey Hansen Subject: songs Jewel could cover Well, these maybe far fetched but I think she could do it (just so you know, I'm kidding! However, it is only a brief exerpt of the song and Cher (Alicia Silverstone) is talking over the music, so it's difficult to hear. If you pat real close attention, it becomes intuitively obvious that the voice could be none other than Jewel's. Additionally, it is a bummer that the song did not make the soundtrack, especially given some of the terrible songs that are on it. I bought the CD for a great acoustic version of "Fake Plastic Trees" by Radiohead, but that's the only song I listen to on the disc. Maybe Jewel's version will make an album someday.
