Another factor is that, although she seems sure of herself, this self-assurance is not very old. She may be in a stage of her life where structured thought is important to her. This is not judgemental. We go through these stages many times during our lives. Also, when being interviewed so often people will come up with the same answers to the same questions. I'd love to see an interviewer ask questions like "so, tell what's important to you." But those types of questions are too opened ended and give control to the guest. Hosts don't like that. Anyhow, just been reading over the postings for the last week, and: Fargo is in North Dakota. It is also one mighty-fine movie about my homeland - the tundra that is the upper-midwest. (Most especially Western Wisconsin/Eastern Minnesota. Quite lovely. And - as a tall woman (5'11"), I find it quite unjust that short women date tall guys. I'm always stuck with guys my vertical inferior. Just a bum note with me. Thanks for your attention, and thanks to all who actually read this! Misty Funk I love the arts! Well, I don't get MuchMusic anymore, but that was where I was first exposed to Jewel back sometime in fall '95. They played WWSYS, and I was impressed. Bought the CD shortly after, and joined the list the first time in the spring of '96. Considering that, I'm surprised that they don't seem to play her much, if I'm reading you right. I owe them a debt of gratitude. I'm disappointed that I don't get the channel here in Toledo, cause I like it alot better than MTV. I had an email problem & not certain the first try went through. So here it is again: Hi all, As promised, here is a bunch of info for you. There is a LOT more info to come in the next few days so please be patient & I'll post as I find out more. (No need to write me privately asking for more info on other shows on the tour.) First, although I forget who did it, some person recently posted to this list claiming to be accepting email on Jewel's behalf. Please DO NOT waste your time emailing Jewel via that adress. It was someone who obviously gets their kicks from reading others' mail & nothing more. OK. Now on to good things. I have some of the upcoming tour info. Keep in mind not all of these are confirmed. I was told that the info "on all or most" of the 30 or so upcoming shows will be shortly forthcoming. I'll post it as soon as I can. Well, you fellow New Englanders will be happy to hear about all of these: 2/20/97 Chapin Hall, Mt. It has another live acoustic call-it-what-you-will of Jewel & WWSYS, a better version than the one on Launch if you ask me. I'm just asking since I didn't see it on any of the discography lists and was wondering if anybody else had it... (it was really funny too since the sales sticker was right over the thing that says 'for promotional use only, not for sale.' I guess I'll just have to play it on my all-acoustic radio show! tim 'burkeman' ___________________________________________________ Tim Burke tburke@mail.heidelberg.edu "I feel so far from where I've been..." ___________________________________________________ ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 26 Jan 1997 17:33:37 -0600 From: Bill & Carrie Subject: JC:YMFM I know this has been discussed awhile ago but I finally can say that I have heard YMFM in the most unusual places. Yesterday i heard it at T.J. Maxx and today i heard it at Wendy's. Kinda funny hearing it at those places. Just out of curiosity how many people like the new version of YMFM better? I do It has more emotion in it i think. Just my .02 cents there. On another note i just picked up launch #9 it's really good. I just wish it had more Jewel stuff on it. I also got WWSYS & YMFM singles they are great. I really like that song Emily it's really good!! Has anyone noticed that Jewel is kinda sounding a bit more bluesy vocally kinda like how Joan Osborne sings. It sounds really cool. Well i'm on a mission now ro collect whatever Jewel recordings I can. So if anyone wants to help me that would be kewl :) Oh well that's enough for this post...
