And my teacher asks, "Did anyone in here grow up on a farm?" and one or two classmates raise their hands and I swear somebody in the back row said rather loudly, "Jewel." Email me for my list. And I sorta mentioned this before, but for a school project we had to write about 10 of our virtues. I only had PoY at this time, and I used lines from the songs along with each virtue. I can think of a lot of lines now that I could have used, but oh well. The part I mentioned in a different post was that several of our classes virtues were printed in the paper, and three of mine made it. I was actually quite surprised, but really happy. I decided to include them all now, so I promise I won't post for a week or so since this is so long. It has a big drum beat and synthesized sounds. It contains a rap section, also. Jewel goes on with her bad self at the end. This song really shows her vocal talent and ability. I really like the song, and the whole soundtrack as well. I would recommend it to anyone. First of all, I want to say that this is a really cool list. I've been on lists for several other bands and such, and none were as cool as this one. People aren't constantly arguing over things here (and if they do, it's in a friendly way :). Ok, to everyone that gets to hear Jewel on the radio 4 or 5 times a day let me say this: you are EXTREMELY lucky!!!! Over the summer they would occasionally play WWSYS on the radio, but I've only heard YWMFM *ONCE* on the radio!!! So all you people who have Jewel-friendly radio stations, I envy you! One good thing today though. I was watching Mtv and YWMFM came on twice today when I was watching!! Yeah!! Ok, now about this adopt a newbie or whatever thing. I was going to write to the person who posted this, but I accidentally erased it so I don't have the addy. Could someone please fill me in on the whole thing, I kinda need a parent! Well, I promised myself I would try to get 7 hours of sleep tonight, so I have to go now. I just want to say that I really think this list is cool! First, it's at least a year old and, like you said, isn't anything like her other work. Second, the writer sometimes has to match a certain style the music director is looking for in a movie, and I think that's what she did. Third, she feigned ignorance of the song at a concert (as reported here by someone else) when asked to play it. I do like the song because the lyrics are classic Jewel but the beat is so different, and the rap part is precious.
