We have added a day by day breakdown of all the stuff that went on in Bearsville prior to Jewelstock. Also the original announcement & info about Jewelstock is now included. We've made an effort to include almost all release date info as well as other important dates in Jewel's career. New folks & all collectors will likely have some fun here. It now contains info on almost 500 Jewel performances as well as pictures etc. It can be a slow page, because of all the info, but give it a try. Point your browser to: http://home.sprynet.com/sprynet/xenomorph/jchrono.htm Thanks again for updates, suggestions & corrections. Keep em coming. Enjoy! I hope that this post is worthy of being publicly posted. I have been informed that many of my posts are not important at all, in regards to my comment/question about the suicide email. First, all you people that bitched at me and then said, "don't reply to this publicly," let me ask you how I was supposed to know that two EDA's have threatened suicide and somebody on this list or a personal friend of an EDA's (I'm not sure which) was hospitalized last night? I don't see how I could possibly know any of this information. I wrote: "Why was this post about suicide relevant or necessary at all?" And all of a sudden people assume that I don't care for people that are suicidal and that I don't understand that suicides happen and can be prevented. This is not the case, obviously. I do care for everybody on this list, whether or not I have ever met them. I do know that suicides are usually hinted at and can usually be prevented by people that are paying attention to the signs. So, for asking a simple question, five or six people on this list have assumed these things about me and flamed at me either publicly or privately. I was merely unaware of the situation(s) and was curious as to whether or not there was some specific reason that this was posted. I wasn't being an asshole, but many of you who replied were... Thanks to you all, I am considering unsubscribing from this last (if that'd make you feel better) because I have received nothing but negative vibes from everybody except a select few. I have posted on the overall feeling on this list before and was told that, "EDA's are generally nice people, and the negativity that is resident on this list lately is uncharacteristic." How long will this go on, this negative, unwelcome feeling? Certainly long enough for me. Lastly, I'm not asking anybody to write me saying, "Oh, please, Todd, don't unsubsrcibe, this list is usually great." I won't believe your opinion until I see it for myself, and I think I have no patience left for this. I'm not asking for your pity, but I felt like I should reply to what I felt were unnecessary flames against me for merely asking an innocent question. The above sentance CAN and obviously was taken two totally opposite ways. If there is ONE thing I've learned while being on the internet, is that if ANYTHING in an Email can be taken two ways (or the wrong way) with 600 readers, it WILL be. Todd (clearly to me now) was just simply asking what was going on?, what has happened? However, and I am not flaming Todd, not at all, but his sentence was poorly worded and way to short. It, very unfortunately, was easy to take the wrong way, especially considering recent circumstances that few on this list knew. So, the lesson here is, please, before you post, CAREFULLY re-read it and see if there is ANYTHING that can be taken the wrong way. You will save yourself and others alot of trouble. Lord knows I have screwed up on matters such as this myself. ****** >Thanks to you all, I am considering unsubscribing from this list >Lastly, I'm not asking anybody to write me saying, "Oh, please, Todd, >don't unsubsrcibe, this list is usually great." This list is ALWAYS great. It's just that a sentance that could be taken the wrong way was by those emotionally involved with this case. It also was taken wrong by a few others who knew nothing. It will blow over, especially now that all SHOULD realize it was an unfortunate misundertanding, one that had mistakes on both sides. Todd, also, please realize, that this is not over yet. Many people have not even read ANY of todays' posts yet. Some will read tomorrow, some Monday, some Tuesday or later. Some will react, many won't. At some point, this becomes apparent to them, and it's a very depressing, lonely feeling. Trust me on this one, I"ve been there. Also, keep in mind the kinds of circles in which we are circulating. Take the list for instance. The people who read the list are very sensitive individuals that often have found solace and meaning in Jewel's lyrics. I'm not saying the list members aren't strong grounded individuals, but there are sometimes in people's lives when they need support. And groups like this often provide it. Hence, you're finding a lot of them online. On a lesser note, you also may see more this time of year because it's the tail end of the suicide season. Although before holidays is worse, this time of year is bad too because now folks are getting the bills :) My two cents. The crowd was small, young and drunk. I became drunk. Nancy had strep and it was real tough to talk with how loud the first two bands were. Larry and friend were there when we arrived. Sinjin showed up later. Nancy talked with Steve and he admitted to Nancy that he doesn't write the posts for their email list. he then told me he talks to the guy over the phone and kind of tells him what to write. So it's safe to say he has no clue as to what the guy writes other then concert dates and certain past activities that Steve gives him to highlight. After the first two bands Nancy and I got up from the EDA table and went to stand up by the stage. They tried out another new song, but can't remember the name. It sounded good. He did one they've been working on called "I'm Going To UPS My Heart Next Day To You". Okay I know that probably won't be the real name. I'm sure they'll shorten it. In the song "Now's Not the Right Time for Love" he took out the line about being busy building an igloo in Alaska and substituted it with busy chasing Jewel in Alaska. They sold out of their CD's and their manager sounded like they weren't going to have anymore. I have a hard enough time finding them in the music stores. They're going into the studios in a couple of months and who knows there is probably a good chance they'll get it out before Atlantic turns out Jewel's new cd. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 12 Jan 1997 01:00:29 -0500 (EST) From: JohnnyPlus@aol.com Subject: Re: reply to jewel on singled out a jewel means the girls JEWELS ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 12 Jan 1997 01:04:02 -0500 (EST) From: JohnnyPlus@aol.com Subject: Re: Metaphorical meaning in YWMFM Vid. i got a question...... when Jewel blinks her eye what does it mean???? ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V2 #22 **************************
