I thought I was pretty lucky, until the DJ messed up and played YWMFM again! Twice in a row on the same station!! Then I KNEW I was lucky! The DJ, BTW, is a friend of mine. On wearing angel wings/halos to the concert: what if in addition to the colored hair, the halos, and the huge "Michael"-style angle wings, we got jet packs or some kind of helicopter backpacks that could fly us over the rest of the audience, just like real angels. Somehow I don't think she'd miss us then. Then, when we wanted to request a song, instead of having to yell over the idiots screaming "Yodel!!!", we could fly up to Jewel and whisper "Memoirs Of A Housewife" right into her ear, and then fly away. Larry G drove down from LA to see the Rugburns with me. We just got back from a five hour show so I offered our sofa bed. I gave him a feather bed to make him more comfortable. He went straight to bed. I was hearing noises coming from the living room so I went to check on him. Instead of sleeping on top of the feather bed, he has it all wrapped up next to him with his arms and legs tightly around it. He has his face buried in it and is mumbling something that sounds like "Jewel I love you", and is making kissing sounds. I'm afraid he will never recover from what ails him. We both have had a night that only dreams could bring. No we didn't go to the House of the Rising Sun and have our fantasies fulfilled. We both went to see the Rugburns at Java Joe's. We got to Java Joe's before 6PM, the show was to start at 9PM. We met the Rugburns manager, Robert Duffey, and spoke to him about the impact that the Rugburns were having on The EDA list. He also told us that they may be announcing a deal with a major record label. I told him about what we have been working on. Larry will fill you in on some of the other things we spoke to him about. He gave both of us a Rugburns vinyl LP. He also told us to come back before the show started. We did and he let us in for free. Tom and Nancy Morales and her daughters were already there. This is the second time I have met them. Let me tell you that Nancy is extremely beautiful. She is also such a nice person. All eyes were on her as she moved through the room. Tom will not misunderstand if I tell you he is also a very good looking guy. He looks like Steve Poltz with muscles. Steve is now clean shaved but Tom has facial hair. Tom and Nancy look like they should be in a soap opera. Nancy showed us her new piercing on her nose. It was a very tiny diamond. Very tastfully done. All night we watched them kissing each other. They are so affectionate to each other. Larry and I enjoyed seeing them. Next we met Erick Garske. He is becoming and old friend. All the great EDA friends I'm making. This is wonderful. I told Erick that I just spotted the new mystery EDA. We made eye contact with each other but neither one of us made a move toward each other. I tricked Erick into going over to her. I finally went over just as Nancy was passing her and I introduced myself and Nancy to her. Well she is now being named by me the Mystery Angel Goddess. Kathy please forgive me for I have looked at Mystery Angel Goddess(MAG) with a sparkle in my eye. MAG will also be referred to as the Angel Magnet, and for good reason. As I looked at her, I found myself drawn to her. As I came over and reached for her hand, I could feel her energy even before we touched. As we shook hands, it was hard for me to let go. She thanked me for my letter I sent her and she said I was kind. The words floated from her mouth so soft and gentle and I could feel them as well as hear them. Before I could start to say foolish things to her I decided it was best that I get back to my seat. Don't worry, you all will get old and foolish some day, just like me. So you want to know who she is. Sorry but you won't get that information from me. Here are some of the reasons. Erick and Larry are alrady shopping for engagement rings and I want to beat them to her. Not for me, I am lucky enough to have Kathy. I want to introduce her to my son Erik(remember Eric, Erick & Erik). Two more reasons. She is going to be my secret weapon against the Golden Goddess, Selena when I challenge her Amish Angel Volleyball team. The last reason is the main reason. It is because the west coast EDA's have not been having gatherings to match the ones on the east coast. If you come and meet some of the EDAs, you may not only be suprised by this perfect angel but you may discover your own God/Goddess EDA. At this point, it is the second time so far that I have fallen asleep on my elbow sitting in this chair. You may have noticed that the subject line did't have a NJC tag. You will just have to wait for part 2 tommorrow for the Jewel Content. Now my only problem will be to get Larry unwrapped from that feather bed and get that funny smile off his face. "I told myself, 'Okay,'" she recalls, "'I'm going to do something I love or I'm going to die.'" Obviously she's alive and singing. Now she is a VH-1 regular witha hit album (_Pieces of You_) and her share of mentions in gossip columns (for a purported brief liaison last year with Sean Penn). What she longs for is privacy. "As a girl I used to go out in the meadows and pray," she says. "And now I go in the bathrooms to check in: 'How you doing, Jewel?'" Still, she "hasn't really spent time connecting with the Hollywood fame part," says Atlantic Records exec Ron Shapiro. Agrees Jewel: "Sometimes my friends and I relize that people think I'm famous and we're like, 'Wierd!'" That's it. Actually this is a GREAT idea...Would that store be able to make a whole bunch of hats saying EVERYDAY ANGELS? that would be a really good way for her to notice us, and for us to notice each other at concerts! Igor was using his literary hyperbole license in his post-Poltz *post*; my only love for Jewel is spiritual (although that cupcake ain't no Hostess, to quote the haloed one), and I WAS asleep, mutterring NOTHING, all swaddled in bliss, at Igor's last night. First, EDA wear: EDA Bryan suggested that we get EDA Baseball caps. I think an easier way might be just to get and wear the new Anaheim Angels Baseball Caps. They cost anywhere from $5 for a cheap one to $22 for a real wool pro one. They're not bad, I think. They're blue with a light blue bill and it has a red "A" with a wing. While we're at it, we should all get Anaheim Angels baseball jerseys--They say "Angels" in red, outlined in light blue. The "A" in "Angels" also has a wing with it. They cost about $130 for the authentic ones, though. We could get each personalized with nicknames/screen names on the back and a uniform number. Jewel could have all of these wierd people dressed up in baseball uniforms at her shows. Heck, we could make ourselves into an EDA Club Baseball team and challenge the Tori Amos List or other artists' lists to a baseball game. Of course all of that is an expensive pipe dream. Unless we get the old California Angels stuff (obsolete) since you can get everything for like 80% off at the stores. I personally think the new ones look better. My apologies to those of you who want this "EDA Clothing" thread to end quickly. Next order of business, Complaining: Everybody keeps posting about hearing YWMFM all the time, twice within 5 minutes, here a YWMFM, there a YWMFM, everywhere a YWMFM. You'd think with all of the radio stations in the LA Metro Area that YWMFM would be on at least one station whenever you listen to the radio. But it's NEVER ON! I hear it about once every two weeks! That SUCKS! Larry, Sinjin, other LA Area EDAs, am I right or am I right? Aaaaanyway, that's it. Sorry for wasting your time. - --Neal ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 4 Jan 1997 18:19:00 -0500 (EST) From: EveryDay Angel Subject: Re: An Idea for EDA's to be SEEN!!!! I've received about 120 responses to my map and it is pretty obvious that the east coast is byfar the leading manufacturer of EDA's. The south is significantly represented. The north and the west are at best sparse. I know I have only and eighth of how many EDA's there really are but I'm sure it would correspond with the total population. So if you want to let mae know where you live email me in the next couple of days. If the respones to my "kindred" post is and indacation then I'm the only EDA reprsenting the states of Missouri and Kansas!! Nuts huh? Maybe some of them just don't wanna make themselfs known or somthing. Maybe some of them just didn't read the post (what? Someone nnt reading every word of every post? NEVER!!! ;]). Anyways.... Oh, and yesterday it's became known to me that there has been little spreading of the news of the Wizard of Oz them park that is being built in Kansas (in Topeka I think). So I just figured I would let you all know. Now that is gonna be neat, but what I really think they need is one of those big theater things and Jewel could go in and do a concert from there some time. Now that'll never happen, if only because I could esaly make it there.
