Well hello my wonderful EDA's. I am back home with a mild headache and a nasty flu bug going around that I plan to avoid this year. (Avast! Ye' mateys! She's a killer, she is...) So, not much happened the few days I was gone. My sister and her family will be coming up later in January (since her husband couldn't get off work) so most of our christmas festivities have been postponed. As a result, I still haven't recieved most of my gifts. Ohwell... But... I SAW JEWEL!!!!!! Yup, sure did. Well, actually my sister-in-law has a Disney sing-a-long video of 101 Dalmations so I saw Jewel the spotted pup. It made me wonder how many "Jewel"s they had to use during the course of the movie. I mean, those little puppies don't stay so little for more than a few months. But as for actual Jewel Kilcher info, my brother, who had said he was going to get "The Burdens of Being Upright" instead bought PoY!! Hahaha!!!! Oh, I'm sure that had absolutely nothing to do with me having it on about 82% of the times he's been to my house. Naaahhh... I also saw a Thirza. I was watching ER... or rather, my sister-in-law was watching ER while I just happened to be in the same room; and the grandson of this jewish lady who had been carjacked was named Thirza. They pronounced it "Tier-za". BTW, Jeff... do you realise how excruciatingly painful it was for me to switch to digest form with this 'auth' stuff? Yeesh.... maybe Majordomo should have a 'switch' command? Y'know, "switch jewel jewel-digest tiltedhalo@juno.com" (...it's puddin' time!) - ---pat "Lather. Rinse. Hi, Recently, Jewel's office requested a copy of a tape from Java Joe's in Ocean Beach, CA from January 11th 1996. (Not to be confused with the 2 summer shows there) This show was not recorded proffesionally. All we are aware of is a commonly circulated audience walkman-type cassette recording which we already have. Our copy is only marginably listenable & I'd like to track down the origins of this & upgrade the tape for them (& myself) if possible. Unfortunately, we haven't the info on who we even got it from long ago. If you made this tape (hoot! cheer!), know who made it, or can provide help, please get in touch. I know this show is very commonly circulated so hopefully someone can help even if the original EDA has moved on. (Please limit responses to helping if you can.) If you don't have this, it's a really unusual setlist with many rare songs & a few of the "new" electric songs in a very embryonic acoustic stage with different lyrics, etc. It's definately worth finding regardless of quality. It was obviously a VERY experimental night. :-) They didn't say, but I'm sure that's why they want it. Thanks for any help. I can't believe they rehashed that Sean Penn thing, I get the feeling that if they are near each other any time until the year 2000 someone will be there writing about it. Well, just subscribe them to a few thousand mailing lists. If only 1% are as busy as our list, your victim would be buried...
