Hey College EDAs, Just a thought, you may wanna sub to the news list while you go home for the holidays. You might get 5 to 10 EMAILs a week from it, so it ain't bad, and who knows, one of them might be January or February concert listings!!! :) :) :) :) To sub to the news list, send an EMAIL to: jewel-news-request@smoe.org and put in the BODY of the EMAIL (NOT the subject): subscribe You'll get back TWO EMAILs quite quickly, one is entitled something like "Confirmation....yadda, yadda, yadda". In that EMAIL is a line that begins with auth and ends with YOUR EMAIL addy. You have to reply to that EMAIL (the reply will be sent to majordomo@smoe.org) and have in that EMAIL you have to have in the BODY of the EMAIL that *entire line* that begins with auth and ends your EMAIL addy. Send it and you'll again get two EMAILs in reply, one is "Welcome To Jewel", the other is a confirmation of successful subscribing (assuming you don't mess up....majordomo is STRICT on syntax) (New folk already know this as they had to do this for the regular list, vets will find this new as it IS new...maybe a month now) Mike ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 18 Dec 1996 21:40:08 -0500 (EST) From: Michael Alowitz Subject: NJC: RE:Hidden Tracks > >Trivia question: Hidden tracks aren't hidden, they're right there; they >just aren't listed on the track list. About Kurt: I think he was a great songwriter. Even though the teen age angst thing is getting overdone, he was one of the first to bring it alive and to the alternative scene. I'm not a big Nirvana fan, I only have 1 CD, but when he committed suicide, I felt very badly for him. I didn't mourn or grieve, but when *anybody* commits suicide, no matter who the person is, I along with a large group I'm assuming feel some sort of sorrow or pain for that person. I even feel sorry for Courtney, she has to deal with all the people saying she did it, she drove him to it. The whole Kurt drama is sad. What can I do as a newcomer to the list to help better it? Money is tight, but I would like to know how I can help? (Thanks to DuckofPrey for his previous answer and disciussion) 2. How many of Jewels live shows are taped by EDA's? How common is it? 3. What is Rare Angels? Radio Angels? Are there several versions? 4. Do you get a pin when you become a list celeb? 5.
