I've been sick for over a week now and found out someone has been saying things about me for over 3 months now!!! But all this is besides the point. I am writing in regards to what happened at my little sister's basketball game today. One of her best friends had the ball when suddenly she collapsed to the ground unconsious!!!! A lady ran out and called 911. When Laurie (my sister's friend) came to she had no feeling from the waist down and didn't even know her own name or didn't even recognize her parents!! The ambulance came and took away in a stretcher. As they were leaving we got everyone in the stands to pray a hail mary and our father. My sister's team ended up losing in over time by one point. Afterwards my sister was crying so long and hard I didn't know what to do. This is her best friend and she is scared she might never play sports again let alone even walk or know who she is!!! My sister doesn't want to lose her best friend, Laurie is a very sweet a nd fun loving girl who never has hurt anyone. Anyways I don't know what I should tell my sister to comfort her. Can you give me some advice? And all four have led me to the conclusion that people sometimes respond to a post without actually reading it , or reading it thoroughly. Some of you, I think ,responded to my post only after reading the subject , and consequently asked me " how can you have not seen Jewel and be on this list?" , or said " Have you seen Jewel ? Then , how can you possibly say she's unattractive". To clarify : yes , I've seen Jewel for I'm Rafa , her Costarican friend ( plus I have MTV and Vh-1) , and no , I don't think Jewel is unattractive. So, just as when she was scheduled to open for Belly here last October, Jewel fell ill and cancelled her St. Louis stop. Sigh. It's not the water. Really. I don't want a perfect person, cus quite simply that person is never truly perfect. I think flaws (pysical ones that is) are good to have, I'm not perfect and don't want someone else that is. What would be the point? About the sexual thoughts thing, I can say that Jewel and sex have never been in the same thought in my head. I usualy don't think of the people I respect in that way. About the teeth.. let me just say I never noticed till someone pointed it out to me (but I suppose that in the videos they would try and hide it, what a shame). Sure enough YWMFM was on the music selection thingy, you know... the tape restaurants play that has music. At first I thought this was kinda wierd considering the previous two songs had been techno-dance crap (that's opinion mind you) and before that it was No Doubt and Jane's Addiction. But what made it sound truely out of place was when the played Metallica (ain't my bitch) right after it. This leads me to the conclusion that a rogue EDA operative has secretly snuck into the recording building and dubbed in YWMFM (and also the fact that the person making the tape was high). If it makes it to an album and people here it they will think of the things people think of, BUT on the contrary we will think of Jewel. We will have one-up on everyone else, for we have been given the gift to see inside, and to understand what Jewel is actualy talking about. Nobody else will ever be able to do that. You should feel priviledged knowing that she choose to share this extra info. with us before letting the generic version take over. It is a very special gift. (And if you can get a copy of our fav. version, it will give you something else to collect that nobody else has). All in all, it's not such a bad thing.
