After reading the posts about this show being broadcast on the radio, I now believe this is the radio broadcast put on CD with some filtering for noise of course. Here's my take on radio broadcasts being put on CD. This is one of the most profitable methods for bootleg companies to make money because they don't have to do much work as in actually sneaking in recording equipment and risk getting caught. I have another bootleg on tape for Tori Amos. It's origin in a radio show in Germany. I know for a fact that at least 3 different boot companies produced a bootleg from this broadcast. 2 are on CD and one is on vinyl(!). This is just to show you angels how often I'm sure this happens. I'm also CC:ing the list, so I can take this opportunity to temporarily withdraw the offer to copy my copy of however many generations of copies of the radio show. We should see what the best quality recording we can distribute is, and tree that. If the CD's better, there's no reason not to use it, anymore. It's also a convenient way to "forget" to include the bonus tracks, though I'd disagree that it's the same as pirating, as there is clearly a loss of sound quality inherent to the cassette medium. The removal of profit motive also makes this more a case of assisting in the promotion of the artist. :) And, of course, there's the much more honest admission of the source material. When you sell your used Ford are you guilty of illegaly producing a Ford? When you buy almost any product you are granted all the rights of ownership including reselling it. You are not producing anything, therefore you are not infringing and any production rights. But, by copying a cd or a recording of songs whose rights are owned by others, for the purpose of selling them, you are infringing on those rights. When Bo Diddly stopped buy here a few years back, he was on a small come-back. But he said during the lean years he'd go into record store and almost cry because of all his music on recoreds he'd never heard of. Put the shoe on the other foot. If it was your property and rights, you'd want to protect it. Well she just happened to be flipping channels, when i jumped up and screamed "Oh my God", "This is Jewel". I hadn't looked at the TV yet, but the beautiful voice that was singing gave it away. So, I got up and looked at the TV. She wasn't on it, (it was some skating competion or show or something) but the women that was skating had picked Jewel's "Angel Standing By", to skate to. I only caught the end of the song, but it was a pleasant finding anyway. It came on here, in NY, at 6:30, and is a skating thing, called The Festival on Ice, so if anybody in a different time zone wants to catch it later on. It sounds just as beautiful as it does on CD. Ok Angels, this has been perplexing me! You know Jewel's usual Bob Dylan story about tweaking his nose, singing with him, yadda, yadda, yadda? Well, I have heard her tell 2 stories that greatly resemble one another. In fact they are both told on the JS tapes. In one version, she says that Bob asks her about yodelling and she tries to teach him but can't do it. In the other version she says that Bob asks her about the words to Sometime It Be That Way, and she can't remember them. So which story is true?? Or are they both true??? Heck, while I am at it, are they both not true???? I just thought that it sounded a lil fishy that she forgot BOTH things in front of him...although this IS Jewel I am talking about...the one who seems to always forget words to her songs!!!! Well...Discuss!!!! BTW--I just got finished reading Plato's _Symposium_. Very good I must say...very short also! Funny! :P But I sense that you somehow were inspired by one or more different sources for these pronounciations...well, anyway, I have an instructional video with Yngwie where he says his name, and I will make a free copy for everyone who wants it. See, we have to do this Friendship project for Religion class and I chose Shelly as my friend. We had to make a little booklet and put pictures and stuff in it. (I wanted to use pictures from Selena's, but I haven't gotten them developed yet...I guess maybe that is a good thing for Shelly!!!! ;-)) Well here it goes: Shelly, I just want to say thank you for everything that you have done for me. You may not realize this, but you are my best friend. I can always count on you for good advice, a hug, and a smile. I know that we have gone through many difficulties, and I never thought that I would be able to get along with you, but now I see you as my friend whom I love and trust. You have given me so much, and I don't think that I will ever be able to repay you. Thank you for coaching broomball, taking me all the way to Woodstock, Philadelphia, and Columbus to see Jewel, taking me to see other concerts, sticking up for me on numerous occasions, and just being there for me. You are the best sister ever. I am dedicating this book to you because I love and appreciate you more than you'll ever know. Thank you Shelly. Love with all of my heart, Liz Thanks for reading...lemme know what you think...btw--I don't care about grammatical errors! Since many of you have already used walkmans to get a concert. This is my fist time so I would like to make this a perfect copy so maybe in the future it may be treed. Any suggestions on how to get a great copy of this concert will be great.
