Well, I sure don't, but I've got what I think is the full WBCN broadcast on the compy I have of someone's tape from the radio. It's about as good as recording from FM seems to get (similar to sampling at 11 kHz instead of the 22 of CD, so call it half as good as a proper digital master.), which I think is still pretty good. At least I know I didn't give someone 25 bucks for pirated material. And YES, I'm calling the CD a pirate and not a bootleg, since the concert was so readily available, which means the maker in question probably didn't do any real work to get the source material. By the existence of an FM broadcast and a promo CD, this falls under the category of illegally duplicating work that WAS meant for release. In any event, I think this is a fairly common tape to have. I'll be glad to dub a few copies off for people... I'm sure others will as well. If you specifically want a tape from the pirate CD, well... your choice. email me for details if you don't have the show and want a copy from my FM tape. Fits nicely on a 90 minute tape with "Sunshine Superman" and "Under The Water" as bonus tracks, if that gives anyone a hint which person's tape mine is a copy of. :) Ray Wong PO BOX 6163 negativl@netcom.com, negativl@best.com Hayward, CA 94540-6163 Member #11537, Deborah Gibson International Fan Club Co-Founder and Charter Member, Sutton Foster International Fan Club ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 8 Dec 1996 08:47:35 -0500 (EST) From: the emperor of smurfs Subject: Re: WHEN YOU SMILE..(boot cd) ray wrote: > And YES, I'm calling the CD a pirate and not > a bootleg, since the concert was so readily available, which means the > maker in question probably didn't do any real work to get the source > material. Given that I thinks, not sure, I was the only EDA that won any ticket for it. By the way, from my lack of story telling or writing I can only give small details of what happened Well, after Elleanor Mc...something, Susana Hoff, Dana Lewis performed, each played only four songs, Jewel came on. Not a warm of a welcome as I was hope for. Jewel than played: Kiss Your Ass Near You Always Sometime it be that way (including the Three Bears' lines) *Carnivore POY YWMFM Deep Water WWSYS Chime Bell Jewel stopped three time to tell the people way behind me to be quiet. * Just before Jewel started to sing, some AHole yelled out "I Love You Jewel". Guess what was Jewel's responded? She said " I love you too, but you are easy" . That was an expected Jewel reapond. Then Wallflower came on, in middle of the act Jewel came out and sing with them. Does anyone knew the lead singer of Wallflower is the son of Bob Dylin? Anyway, I think the same AHole from previously threw a piece of paper up to the stage and said " call me". Jewel than show him the Bird. The lead singer of Wallflower than said to the crowd " lets be a gentlemen!" I think at this point Jewel wanted walk off the stage and give this guy a piece of her mind. The show ended at around 11:45. At that point I was determine to stick around until I could get her autograph. I waited inside till 12:15am than went outside to wait next to the door where the performer comes in and leaves. At around 1:00am, in the bitter cold by my self, she came out with the Wallflower guy. Aaha here is my chance, but guess what I got dumfounded, lost all thought of why I was there and Just said " Hi JJJewllll..., ca...can you sign this", handed her the POY CD, and a marker. At this pint I was inches from her, she opens the cap to the marker and started to sign the CD. BUT the freaken marker's tip was dry, she than handed me the CD, basicly blank, and the marker back and said "sorry I got to go, I'm in a hurry". Darn, almost an hour in the cold and the freaken marker did not write. Well that was my experience at HRC, after an hour drove home and three hours of sleep I than set off to meet Alan, Mr. BB, for the Conn, show. Just though I would mention that I was at a sports bar in the Philly, PA area Thursday night to watch the Eagles game (ok, go ahead and snicker, I know the Eagles didn't actually *play* Thursday!) and POY was in the Jukebox. Three times during the night Jewel was selected including WWSYS, YWMFM and Morning Song. I was near the jukebox and it appeared that different people selected her each time. When YWMFM was played, it seemed like half the people at the bar and around the TV's and pool tables were singing along. This place gets a crowd ranging in age from 18 (ok illegal but what can ya do) to mid 40s and pretty evenly split male-female. It was really cool to see such a random group of people connecting with her music. Thank you so much Chelsea for sending the JS tapes to me. I love them!
