Well we won't be around for awhile. I'll download mail off my son's computer and at school. So if you need to get in touch just email us at milagro4@primenet.com. We got our tickets in the mail today for the San diego xmas show but we don't know what venue is at 4th and B. to Igor and graywolf and the rest we're going to go early so if anyone wants to meet let's meet down there somewhere. We're on the floor. Oh yeah, we had a fire our bedroom was destroyed and the rest of the house is pretty much a disaster. It will be 2 months before we can be back in our house. I hope I can keep up with all the mail this way. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 3 Dec 1996 19:14:33 -0500 From: ABershaw@aol.com Subject: Jewel @ Bearsville Studios- Sessions Info Hi all, Heres most of what was recorded when Jewel was at Bearsville Studios this summer. These sessions took place the 2 weeks prior to Jewelstock. I post this in hopes that it will simply spark some Jewel-related conversation. Keep in mind other sessions later occurred in Nashville & NYC, so this is NOT any definative track list for the new album. But it is likely to include a dozen of so of the following: 1) Electric tracks recorded with the band in Studio B(the big studio) at Bearsville between July 6th -11th, 1996: Boy Needs A Bike Carnivore Jessica(2 versions electric & acoustic band) Tough Girl Innocence Maintained Deep Water Satellite Fragile Heart Sometimes It Be That Way Love Me Just Leave Me Alone Fading Away Run Tonto Run 2) Acoustic tracks recorded in Bearsville Studio A (a much smaller studio) between July 12th-16th: His Pleasure Is My Pain Louisa & Her Blue Guitar Fragile Flame 1000 Miles Away Sometimes It Be That Way Run Tonto Run Grey Matter The Face Of Love Nicotine Love Moon Over Austin Buttercup Deep Water Keep in mind this may be incomplete, but I think it is a fairly accurate list of things being considered for the next album. Actually, it is pretty easy to find out what your manual dominance is, bearing in mind that it should have something to do with which one of your eyes is dominant. To find out which eye is dominant is REALLY easy. Find an object to look at. Close one eye, then open it. Do the same with the other eye. If the object moved when you closed and opened an eye, that is the eye that is LEAST dominant. OK..... The first annoucement is going to be 7:35am Wednesday. My guess is that this is going to be a MIX 96.5 Private Performance, which means that to go, you have to win tickets from the radio station. Persistance is the key. Keep at it. Begging is a possibilty. In fact, they usually give you a chance to beg for tickets.. and if the DJ thinks you've begged well enough, you'll get tickets. Or something else silly like that. Two others they did: (GIve me a good reason!) and (Why do I owe you something?) I, personally, would love to see what would happen if we all approached them as the Texas EDAs..... That might actually get us tickets on the spot. I think it'll help ALOT if you mention the group if you try the begging stuff. The phone # of the DJ booth is (713)390-5965. You don't know what an EDA is? We are the absolute hugest fan base for Jewel. We're all over the world. We'll do anything for Jewel. There was this concert and people came from all over the U.S. just to see her; we called it 'JewelStock'. There's always EDA's at every Jewel show and she loves us. The concert at the Whittemore center on campus was great. I discovered that I don't like SURF Nada though... I guess I liked The Bodeans. They were nifty. Jewel was great. I thought it was strange that she opened with "Pieces of You." A lot of people got strange looks on their faces (including the half dozen elementary school children and the mothers in the row in front of me) But it was a great concert nonetheless. And I must say that I can no longer call myself Kate "I will never meet another EDA as long as I live" Kosteva (as dubbed by Mike Connell) ... I don't know who it was that I saw, but I saw her while we were getting our ticket stubs signed by Jewel (hee hee! I have her autograph! Wow!) .. all I know is that there's an EDA out there with a nose ring and an earring or two and that she let Jewel know that she was an Every Day Angel (that's when I tapped her on the shoulder and said that I was too) What a cool night! I didn't win any of the prizes they were giving, but my friend Eric and I paid a mere $10, walked down the street for a concert, and then got Jewel's autograph. How much better could a Tuesday night be?! Still smiling, Kate ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 4 Dec 1996 00:04:00 -0500 From: LisaSG@aol.com Subject: I FINALLY MET HER!!!! Ok, I'd say that this was well overdue, but I finally met Jewel! I probably whined about this to a few of you at the Hampton Beach show. Tonight I went and saw her at UNH (my old school) and it was just great. During Nada Surf I got a couple of backstage passes (very illegally I might ad, I'll let you all come to your own conclusions about that) :) I had awesome seats in the first place, but from that point on, I pretty much stayed out back, and on the floor next to the stage. I met Jewel's bassist Zev at the Hampton show, and he remembered me. I told him that I was still trying to get her autograph. He felt bad for me, and told one of her managers. He got Jewel to sign my shirt, and I told her I was an EDA. That's when I met Kate (sorta) but I wasn't really paying attention, because I was incredibly overwhelmed being down there with Jewel and everyone. My friend Sarah really hit it off with Nick, the BoDeans drummer...hmmm, that's pretty cool. Anyway, I just was so psyched, that I had to share this. Zev is such a great guy, and if you guys get a chance to talk to him (he's very accessible) then you really should. I guess I'll shut up now. Lisa yup that's me, nosering and lots of earrings. ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V1 #832 ***************************
