Hey Everyone, I finally got the YWMFM single today. I have a question. On the back of the CD, it says that the version of YWMFM was an album edit. I listened to it...it was definitely not an edited version of the song, it's a whole newly recorded version. I like the original version better. One more thing, during the chorus of "Dreams last for so long.... Even after you're gone..." is that Jewel singing in the background? And is the cover of the single from the video. They did two versions, one with Flea from the RHCP. We never did get confirmation from Hiranya on which version they released, but the version on the disk does not sound like the "Flea" version that Hiranya describes below, at least the way I 'read' it. Note that she says the one version, which I think is the one out there now, was done with the original master, which would make it an "album edit" in that case. Hiranya mentions the Flea version has a 'drum track', but so does the album version & the radio version. Unless she meant a drum solo, which the new version does not. Since the radio version sounds nearly the same as the Album version, my bet is we have the first version Hiranya talks about...i.e. Hiranya's post 'reads' to me like the Flea version would sound alot different...then again, what the h*ck do I know? ;) Here is most of what Hiranya wrote on August 1st: > A little news about the new single. I think it has to be as Hiranya never mentioned anyone else and there are no credits for 'backgound vocal' on either the CD single nor the promo release. > And is the cover of the single from the video. I would not really > know because I've been without a TV since late September. Yeah, it's from the video. VH1 plays it enough now that if you camp out at Sears and 'test drive' a TV for 4 hours (with VH1 tuned in of course) you are bound to see it.
