There is a song called Shaky Ground, written by Evan Dando of the Lemonheads, and he sings it by himself, alternating characters. It's short, and really neat. It's only on the My Drug Buddy single as far as I know. It's about two people, Jim and Jemima (sp?), and they're not sure if they should be friends or more than friends. Question. Is Swedish Song on JS tapes? I haven't heard it. Yours Jewelly, Chris ------------------------------ From: Tom Kies II Date: Tue, 19 Nov 1996 20:58:26 -0500 Subject: go Macy's!! I agree. Guys are socially groomed to hide their feelings. As a result it takes a lot for a guy to want to show his feelings. Once he does, he's yours. Trust me. I have an interesting story that you may like, it's about my best friend and another friend that I gained when she started going with my best friend. The guy's name is Ryan and the girl's name is Tonya. Over three years ago, Ryan was living with this girl Shelby. They were in love. We were all around 19-20 then, except Shelby, she was 17 I believe. She was just experiencing life. I don't know what went on there, but Shelby ended up breaking Ryan's heart. A little after that time I broke up with my fiance'; ours was more equally a break up, but probably a little more on her part. Neither of us made for good company, but Ryan was ready to date a lot sooner than I was. It took me over a year. Ryan met this girl named Tonya. She was and is very independent, smart and attractive. However, Ryan had promised that he would never love anyone again. He did not string Tonya along, he made sure that she knew. But, they stayed together. They both liked each other, and Tonya knew that Ryan liked her. But, she obviously wanted more. From the point that Tonya started to date Ryan I got to know her and we became friends. Both Ryan and Tonya would ask me for advice, and it was hard to give each of them advice without betraying the other's trust. But somehow I managed to do it. Ryan was often very pigheaded, obstinate and sometimes mean. He was scared to be close to her. I told her that he was capable of more, but if she wanted it to work she had to stick with it. I told her that if she loves him, to tell him, and not to expect anything back. I told her that he probably would not admit that, whether he did or not. I told her not to push him deeper into commitment, it would backfire. I told her that if he got drunk and was cruel not to turn away, he was only protecting himself and he didn't really mean it. There were many other things too. She is a very strong person, she did what I said. It didn't take long for Ryan to realize that he could trust her not to attack his weaknesses. And to finally come comfortable with everything and tell her that he loved her. Finally, he proposed to her , and they are getting married next April. Ryan and Tonya are soul-mates, but the relationship was not without work. It's been my experience that women are more trusting than men. Tonya had been hurt before, but she sprung back along time before Ryan did. It took my ex-fiance four months to start dating, it took me over a year. I can cite more supporting evidence, but you get the point. Hope this all helps someone out there.
