Does anyone here remember a teen star from the 70's and 80's named Tatum o'neal? She was in movies like "Little Darlings" and "Paper moon"? Well if you have seen her then you have probably noticed that she and jewel look remarcably simalar. I think that this is some kind of conspiracy. Oh, you dont belive me? Well here is some of the evidence that I have collected. 1) Tatum's last movie was somethime in the early 90's around the same time that Jewel showed up. 2)The both have strange names (No, I am not putting jewel's name down. I am just stating a point) 3)They have the same EXACT bone structure. 4) they both have very nice voices There is only one difference that I have found so far, Tatum's tooth was not crooked. But I think I have found out how they covered this up, If you watch closely in tatums movies she was usually only shot smiling from one angle. coincedence? I think not. If you want to see this for yourself, go to your video store right away and rent this movie. Even if you dont see the resemblance you might even enjoy the movie, even though i must warn you, it doesnt have a very good plot. I can remember when I was on my free trial period with MSN and I posted a message to the likes of; Gosh Jewel is neat, anyone agree? (perhaps it was a little more involved) Anyway I remember two people writing me back saying, "hey I heard of her she's pretty cool." In my excitement that someone else knew of her I would write these two people back many times and proclaim my undying devotion to her music (which, in both cases resulted in a "your a weirdo I just said she sounded cool"...in my defense I'm not a weirdo, anyway). I thought I was so cool because I was the only person in the world who had read her FAQ sheet on some web page (forget the person that wrote it, or the sum 100's of hits it had received, _I_ was the only person who read it!) I was so in "awe" with my little discovery I decided to sell her to everyone I knew here in Omaha, Nebraska (yes Nebraska, ohhh moo right back at ya. :))with that in mind I made a couple hundred copies of fliers I had created (e-mail me if you want to here what I said in it)and passed them out at what we like to call, "Downtown" Omaha or "The Old Market". Omaha's little aesthetic underworld for "90's Beatniks", sidewalk folkies with their guitars and melodies (someday maybe I'll get the nerve and play my sequel to "Painters" down there), artist wanna be's and the like. I would have given the fliers directly to my friends had I taken the time to make some (friends) in the one odd year I've been here (by the way I miss Laguna beach, did you know I lived this close to jewel and her van?,... if only I knew then what I know now,... sigh). Sadly the fliers fell on many deaf ears and I, once again had to wallow in my own self pity for far too long. My point being; now that I have finally been able to join this list it's weird to me to see Jewel's name in print that I haven't typed. As a matter of fact I feel a little ashamed that I don't know as much as you guys. Here I thought I was this bigshot know-it-all (notice I am not making any reference to Sean, I read Igor's post--did you?) and I'm not. I have been humbled by you all and I want you to know I'm loving every sweet minute of it! It's just too bad that I had to miss Jewelstock, so much for fashionably tardy. They were both naturalists, and Henry, June and Anais formed some sort of a love triangle. While Henry is more known to the world, it is my understanding that Anais published some works herself. Their creations were considered very bold, by some, or very pornographic, by others, as they had done something that was taboo at the time - their books contained descriptions of sexual intercourse, and other such no-nos. I don't know their full story ("...only this time it'll be even better - we'll stay together in the end..."), though I would be happy to hear it.
