This is going to be a long story so bear with me. My name is Sandy Close (formerly Sandy Ruckman). My fiance now husband and I were on the mailing list from the beginning of 1995 under the address of jsclose@salamander.net. We had wanted to come to Jewelstock and had sent a message saying that we were interested in coming. Because of wedding planning and other things we were unable to attend. Then our computer crashed and we were unable to be online for a period of about a month in mid summer (right after Jewelstock). I was able to get online and resubscribe to the list through a computer at the office where I worked. I inquired about getting the Jewelstock tapes and videos. I received a reply stating that the tapes would be available after labor day and the video was questionable as to when it would be available because some of the material would be on jewels upcoming album. Then we got married and moved to Toledo and were just able to get back on the list. If someone out there could send us some info about getting the tapes that would be great. we should be relatively stable at this address and plan to stay on the list from now on. Thanks in advance for your help. If the dates were flopped i could conceivably see her twice in three days, but as it is I'll miss both. Oh well, maybe while I'm flying home we'll get snowed into an airport together (me flying east, her flying west). Cursing the fates, Trent Smith P.S. And no, you smart-alecs, I can't fly home on a different day, so don't even bother to suggest it. ------------------------------ From: ABershaw@aol.com Date: Sun, 10 Nov 1996 22:53:08 -0500 Subject: 2 Upcoming Jewel Radio broadcasts! Hi all, As someone recently posted, Jewel is scheduled to perform both nights at KROQ's Acoustic X-mas on December 12th & 13th. Both nights will be simulcast live on KROQ in there entirety! Jewel's sets will run approximately half an hour each night. This is a perfect opportunity for you LA area EDAs to get some excellent new tapes to spread around the list. I'd also like to find an area EDA that is capable of making a 2nd cassette master or preferably DAT recording of both nights(Jewel only) for The Archive. A volunteer would be appreciated & rewarded somehow. Please respond to me privately if you might be that volunteer. :-) MrBB (Alan) ------------------------------ From: haze@earthlink.net Date: Sun, 10 Nov 1996 22:58:23 -0500 Subject: JS Tape Branch I was wondering if anyone could help me out... My branch for the Jewelstock Tapes was Silver Kat... I have yet to receive my tapes. I have sent email to her address, with no replys. Does anyone know anything about Silver Kat, as in where she is, or if she is still around. I got a 'branch message' over two weeks ago that everyone's tapes were either on thier way, or would go out very soon. Nothing has shown up, and no word from Silver Kat. She lives in NJ, I am in NY, so I know it doesn't take long to mail things here. What should I do? I have another question.... I have obtained her telephone number...Would it be rude/impolite to call her at home? Any comments would be appreciated.....especially from Silver Kat :) Haze ------------------------------ From: W1GGY2@aol.com Date: Sun, 10 Nov 1996 23:27:02 -0500 Subject: Speaking of Igor... But you guys dont flame me but I love that song by Des'ree and I think it was perfect for the movie. All and all this movie ROCKED I give it 4 stars****. It was about 1 o'clock in the afternoon on Friday and I was listening to the WNVE on the radio in my schools lounge. WWSYS came on the radio which in and of itself is not weird but after the song finished, the DJ came on and said that they had just received a request from someone who said, and they were quoting,"Could you play that song by that Alaskan girl?" The first thing that hit me when I heard this is that it must be an EDA trying to pretend that they really didn't know of Jewel all that well. If this was an EDA, since WNVE is on the Jared's radio station list, I would love to hear from you. That was really funny. - -- - -Floyd "Mean people suck" EDA Poetry Page: http://www.servtech.com/public/mschaeff/edapoems.html Under Massive Perpetual Construction :) ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V1 #752 ***************************
